Good idea. I looked at one of the BDR routes a few months ago but forgot about it.
I did a bit of the Pony Express in 2018 as a passenger in my own truck. I had fairly freshly broken ribs, sternum and collar bone so I lasted 2 days before bailing. That shit hurt a lot.
That might be worth doing just so I can finish it.
On the other hand I’m planning another southern Utah trip next spring and might take that to get out there.

I would suggest going south.
Just kidding.
I don’t know much about surfing or fishing down there.
I know San Juanico has really good surfing. We missed amazing waves by a day in 2017. But that’s about 700 miles south of the border.
There some good beach camping south of El Rosario. And some good stuff along the Sea of Cortez.
I should know more about Baja. I’ve driven about 5,000 miles over 6 weeks down there.

I still have to figure out how to buy ammo. Doh! I haven't purchased all in years but all my reloading rounds are drying up.

 

Despite the moral issues of requiring a background check, there shouldn’t be a problem with buying like you use to. Just a longer (and more expensive process) Go to a shop, ask to get ammo, they’ll grab whatever you need, you go to the counter, they ask for ID and if you’ve bought a gun at the current ID address. Wait 2-3 mins. Pay for ammo. Walk out.

Drove by the fire in Pescadero along the coast yesterday. Got some good footage of the fire crews in helicopters doing their work. Scary stuff!

 

Saving up some money so we can finally make the move back up to Oregon. Montana would be awesome - have family up near Billings.

I'd do MT over Oregon, and I'm from Oregon. The current state of the State is trash. If it currently didn't keep me from paying state taxes, I would change my state of residence

 

Would love to do that, however, our current situation would have us in Oregon. Most likely in Bend or that general area. Family is in Eugene.

 

Bend is nice, but turning into Portland central... Prineville is where my mom is from.
