I think I have seen some of you guys with rooftop tents. I'm looking into a used Tepui Autana, their largest model, but I just wanted to make sure that wouldn't be too much weight? I have a Leer 100XR with the roof rails and the heavy-duty Thule bars. Seem to find mixed reviews on it. It weighs about ~200lb, I have the bed stiffeners installed, it would just be wife, dog and I about ~400lb. I wouldn't be going up/down anything crazy but would need to travel some bumpy dirt roads for sure. Thoughts?

I've got a Tepui Kukenam Ruggedized on BAMF expo bars. ~180 for the rtt and ~50 for the bars. Haven't felt much difference, but still rides nice. Trucks tend to ride better with a bit of a load anyway, IMO.

Sorry Colonel, I was waiting for a call-back from my salesman. He waited until Saturday evening at 8pm... Which was foreshadowing that he was so busy with new sales that he just didn't have time to call me back to discuss my issues for a solid 24 hours. I suspected instantly that bad news was ahead and I was not wrong. Not only does his dealer want me to pay for several accessories that I did not ask for, but now apparently the contract (or so I thought) that I have on paper for the truck I ordered back in March for 46,319, is subject to change. He also he informed me that Toyota no longer accepts Costco auto pricing for TRD Pro vehicles. While that may be true, I made a deal way back in March and placed my order and gave my deposit, so the new pricing and lack of Costo deals anymore should not effect my sale, I argued. You and I know this is all a game, trying to get more money for a hot truck that the dealers can't get ahold of fast enough right now. You can't even get lower level Tacomas. They are selling like hotcakes. He maybe was testing me to gauge my level of anger. I let him know politely that I was not happy, and he said he will talk to his manager early today and see if he can get the price lowered. To my surprise, he just called me as I started writing this post, and in fact I just deleted a lot of angry wording! His manager (or so he says) can relate to my despair, and agreed to honor the Costco pricing deal I originally had, which is invoice price of vehicle plus invoice price of accessories, plus $500. That amounts to a new price of 46900, a bit less that $600 more than my original price. For that I am getting the power tailgate lock, already installed, the black lettering in the tailgate, and a roof rack. While I didn't really want the roof rack because I think it makes the truck a little less good looking, it does add some utility, and it could come in handy one day to carry a canoe or whatever. Additionally, I was not looking forward to installing that power tailgate lock. The deal is still on, and I may be able to pick the truck up a day before I take the family to a lake house that is 3.5 hours north, on the 26th! Needless to say, I am in that childish excitement mode that grown men only seem to experience when they are about to get a brand new vehicle. I hope nothing else goes wrong!

Given the market, the timing and all that is going on I think you did well. Does that include the shipping and prep charges, as well? In the end, you're getting an awesome truck that is in very short supply at this point...and it was never in huge supply. As long as you are comfortable, then nothing else matters. Congratulations!!! I'm looking forward to seeing your new AG Tacoma!!

Thanks, and yes, my price includes the delivery charge and everything else, except tax. It's almost as loaded as you can make any tacoma I guess. Which is what I wanted- a fully loaded truck that comes with everything, ready to go, and ready for anything. As for pictures, sure I can post some, but it will just look like every other Army Green Pro here. Well, except for the factory roof rack I guess!

But it will be YOUR AG Pro so post away. I actually would have probably put a rack on mine but the placement of the antenna keeps your from putting the rear cross bar in place. They moved the antenna back a bit starting in February to accommodate the rack.

    Welcome to Team AG!

    Welcome to TW
Yes we need pics! That way you have a before and after, as in after you start putting mods on because of all the cool stuff for our trucks that pop up on this site that you think you need! Then we can all compliment how nice your truck looks, or ask you where you got this part and that part:cool:
Does anyone know how many army green trucks ended up getting produced? Just curious how rare our trucks really are:confused:

Brief update. Will plan out uca, lca, and aal for small lift next or bumper for winch. I was going to show the northstar battery I put in but it tried to kill me lifting it into the bay! (85 lbs or more)!

Finally installed these MESO headlight trim plates. Much easier than anticipated

I really like the look of the color matched trim plates - glad I did mine, as well.

Feel like I am getting peer pressured into doing mine (definitely ot because it looks better), a little intimidated to tear apart the bumper to do it

No pressure here, at all. I just happen to like the look - but not everyone does. You do you! :D

It's really not that difficult to do and if you have a right angle screwdriver it reduces the number of clips you need to loosen on the wheel trim.

Still, don't feel pressured to do it!!

Also, in a few years when you get tired of the monochrome look, you can always swap in the cool custom-looking, retro black slotted trim plates to add more aggressive two-tone contrast and texture to your front end!

For balance; I think it looks nice, but personally I'm not compelled to do it to my truck :)
