Ordered through ebay to Canada which takes twice as long as ordering direct due the the ebay global shipping program. I was able to get a 30 USD discount to a cost of 170 USD. I do complain about having to item shipped Erlanger Kentucky and then Pitney Bowes shipping again to Canada. Anyway my order was placed Friday July 31 and delivered Saturday Aug 15 which has been the fasted this year from ebay. Runnin4Tacos was the next fastest for my pod hood brackets.

My off road has the heated seats buttons located up high. Don't know if that is an option to free up switch spots.

I don't understand the thinking with regards to the location of these switches? They should be to the left of the driver freeing up valuable space in the centre.

There should be 3 categories of switches.

    Lights
    Drivability
    Comfort

    Lights on the left side
    Drivability overhead
    Comfort in the center

Auto high beams, cargo light, 120v inverter on the left
ECT, diff lock, traction control overhead with the crawl control settings (OR and pro only)
BSM should be on the steering wheel really
QI charger, rear window, USB should be in center.

When adding more switches, people tend to do more lights, and more interior comfort things like heated seats, more usb ports and the such.
These changes would greatly help those of us who like to add more switches and get custom switch panels.

But this is just my thoughts

I would love to find replacement male and female plugs for all the switches so I could make extensions to put them to where I think they should go. But I think it would end up as just a rats nest of wiring.

Yes, a PnP harness extension would be ideal. Otherwise cutting in the middle and extending in the only other option.
I've considered moving the ECT button to the centre console beside the emergency brake to free up one spot. My OR doesn't have as many switch locations as the Sport or Pro version does.

I agree with your classification of switches. I do not agree with the placement.

Drivability switches should not be on the overhead. Much like blinkers, hand brake, cruise controls, lights, and fogs they should be placed in such a way that it is "natural" for a driver find and use the switch. It would require taking eyes of road or training and practice for most drivers to find the appropriate switch for the task at hand. I have had the truck sine 2017 and still have to look to find the moon roof controls everytime I feel the need to use them.

Admittedly some driving controls are ideal in the overhead, low speed selections and or less commonly used items. Things like crawl control are good up there as one is not going to be doing 80 on the highway with the need to switch crawl modes. Frankly I think 2-4 wheel mode selection would be better on a stalk as they used to be, however where they are sucks the overhead would again be a better location. how many times does one switch driving modes at speed?

Qi I almost never (I think 2x since the 1st week of ownership) use. I have not used the stock radio input/usb even once. BSM, Park sensors stay on unless towing or tailgate is open while driving. I know before moving if those conditions apply. I added a high speed dual USB charge port when I relocated the ECT. 2017 did not have auto lights but that switch could live down there as well since it would likely rarely be used.

I like and want my ECT on the left where I can reach it during the drive as I not infrequently switch it on or off as conditions change. As such that is where I have moved mine directly in front of armrest, I need only extend a finger and punch forward to use it eyes can stay on the road.

We all have our own preferences.

@5nahalf has the right take, if we could easily by the M&F plugs for each of the switches it would be child's play for most of us to relocate the switches to our preferred locations.

@MESO makes a kit with both the Male and Female plugs. a cheap option. He also makes a kit and finished AT shift knob on each side which is a bit pricier.

Buy either from him and you could do just that.

One thing I have noticed though, The switches are keyed to only fit in certain spots, I had to sand off the ridges on my switches when I moved around the center ones.

The couple I moved seemed to be fine. ECT to left. In the center, I moved the Qi farther away (I think), and added the USB charger.

I also have a left side panel from Meso with ECT, Cargo, Window on bottom and 4 smalls on top with aftermarket switches and the inverter.

I have a MESO left side panel too, and fortunately he has the forsite to max out all the grooves, so any switch will fit in them, unlike the OEM panels. The only switch I moved on the OEM factory panel was putting the BSM where the Qi button used to be (got rid of it) and like 5nahalf said, that's one of the switches that won't fit in that position without some material removal, just FYI. I used a dremel tool.

I agree. This is the logic that drove me to relocate my LED light bar switch to the far left position on the left panel, which is the most easily accessible button for me personally. I use the light bar on back roads at night, hoping not to hit a deer, but I wanted to be able to hit real quick if another car was coming without fumbling. Nobody wants melted retinas.

Might be something that was changes in 2018 when they shuffled the switch locations around. If you look at this pictures from mesos site, you can see the left switch has 4 keys, center has 3 keys and the right I cant tell how many, but it has at least 2 keys. But the key ways are all in different places and line up with the correct switches. Razor blade takes the keys down pretty easy (switch side)
