Black lugs, I also was given a set of locking lugs from the dealer which is nice, only bummer is it’s chrome so I have 1 chrome lug on all 4 tires

Sr5 has leather wrapped steering wheel, the Sr just has a rubber wheel

Could be that its not a long bed. Dude only posted one pic so hard to tell. If its a sr5 they removed the fogs and replaced with blanks, seems unlikely.

the scalloped body line gets cropped off abruptly on short bed trucks. in his picture you can see that body line continue onto the bedside, meaning it’s a 6’ bed. he also said it’s a ‘long box’ in his post.

to be clear i couldn’t care less, i just wanted to share that an easy way to ID certain trims is by looking at the wheelbase, since SR/SR5 was already being discussed by others.

SR5 is a very broad trim range; you could get a stripper with steelies and no fender flares (nearly an SR) or a loaded one. you could get a SWB or LWB. 2TR or 2GR. ironically never a manual transmission, though (for 3rd gens).

Yeah, me either but its something to do on a covid afternoon. Never hear of a sr5 without fogs but you sound like you know so I am ok with it either way.

Finally finished up I should have pretty decent protection now. These plasticolor flaps are easy to cut and mold to contours nicely 20200818_183259.jpg 20200818_183241.jpg20200818_183230.jpg
Not really a fan of the aesthetics of mud flaps, but since I have black paint I need them, plus they blend in so they aren't that noticeable. These are the little splitters I cut for the front of the rear wheel well

Word around the campfire is that folks are getting more for their tacomas than they paid. Kinda makes me think about selling this one and making a few grand. I have a 96 that will be fixed soon (frame rot). Maybe I'll just drive that.

Thanks, my wheel offset is +10, from the stock +30 I believe, it brings the tires out just a bit past the flares which I like.

Well guys according to some people on here that own the TRD OF our SR 4x4's suck and are made for the street only.

So I wouldn't take them off road if I were you.

    You have been warned.

    =)

I don’t even park in the gravel part of my flat driveway. The SR can’t handle that type of terrain. I would be afraid to destroy my “investment”

Some drivers don't need a computer to take over and power the wheels for them. How did off roaders ever make it before crawl control?

Haha, its a 4x4 truck it's meant for off-road, why buy a more expensive truck if you are going to take most of the parts off and mod it anyway. Once you put better tires on the SR, and maybe suspension you've got a pretty capable off-road truck. How often are people actually using the locking rear diff, and crawl control, in terms of off-road capability thats all the SR is missing compared to the TRD OR.....

I agree, I think some people (not all) need to rag on base model 4x4's to justify their 45K investment.

I am taking the money I saved buying my SR V6 4X4 and adding AT tires Suspension a locker and a winch.

But it's still for the street only right?

    =)
