Yeah those are not rust stains, they are too uniformed in color. Rail dust will have a sharp color in the center as it fades out a little lighter.

Those are grease/tar stains. Chances are its from recent asphalt that stuck to the film. Depending on how long it was on there, buffing the top layer off may be the only option.

Have you noticed any fading on the spots? I was comparing an earlier picture I took a couple weeks back and noticed it was a little darker. I’m not sure if the hot AZ sun may be slowly fading it away.

I got something similar a couple weeks ago. I noticed a thick brown glob on passenger front door. It was thick and oily. I cleaned it off, but it left the spots as seen in the photos. I tried a clay bar and Goof-off, but nothing. You can’t feel the edge of the spot, it’s almost as it’s in the clear coat. You can see a drip mark on the first photo.

Interesting that so far it’s the Cement Tacomas that have been affected. Haven’t yet had a change to take it to a detailer to get it looked at. Hoping is not to bad to remove.

Only way it'll come off is paint correction / cut and polish. I tried citrol, ironx, clay bar, its definitely stained / bled through the clearcoat. Dealer is gonna tell you tough luck, since they aren't responsible for road conditions and its not a paint defect, just bad luck. My truck is even ceramic coated and it did that.

I scheduled an appointment with the dealer to have it checked out. I’m not sure if they will be able to do if anything.

Let us know but I'm sure they are gonna tell you its not covered because they can't control whats on the road, same as if you drove through a puddle of paint, etc. its not a defect of the paint more how strong the oil/grease was, just bad luck, im sure super white, etc. would fall to the same fate.

Yeah the only card I can play is that the stain may be under the protective plastic which was I stalled by them prior to me driving off the lot.

did you notice any fading of the spot?

That looks like the factory stuff bud. Its not dealer installed on the rear of the cab/bed, unless of course you asked / paid for it or was a port option, but from the pic that looks like the factory ppf they put back there, and no fading here, gonna have my detailer polish it off and recoat.

Oh I'm sure it will, it doubt it went through my 2 layers of CQuartz UK and clear through the paint. Just sucks in the first place. That time of year I guess with road construction.

Finally got something from the dealer, they want to buff out the spots to see if that helps.

They look like the spots that are everywhere around my place including my boat. I thought they were from the trees because as I said they are everywhere.
