It's interesting that VIAC is starting to sell everything off. I wonder what their end game is. I wanted to buy more under $20, but it may be heading to $40 soon...

 

I have two friends that work for them. That company is in the shitter. Layoffs everywhere. Viacom owns and operates legacy media that is dying. CBS is fucked this year because sports are fucked. I would stay away.

 

I say just buy T for media, they have their hand in so many areas of media. I just wish they didn't own CNN, because now I own CNN.

 

My mom deposited a paycheck once and the were off by a factor of 10x...They deposited like $35,000 instead of $3,500....She just left it there...after 3+ weeks they finally notified her and took it back...but let her keep the interest

 

I know people have been unhappy with the the Redstones for a long time and with Sumner passing away, it looks like there is some ability to start moving in a direction that will make shareholders happy.

 

Yeah, that's how one of my best performing index funds is in my retirement portfolio. I'm up nearly 30% in it, and their biggest holding is NYT.. ugh.

 

I was looking at ETM for an in and out when it was hovering around $1 in May...thinking it would recover some...Dammn Now it's at $1.67...it still dead in the water as I think radio is dead...but that's a missed opportunity.
The key for me is when they sold their $30M rock station in Boston for $10M (to pay down debt/interest) to a christian programming station...

I don't know what the euphoria index is like lately, but this doesn't seem like a euphoric rally. It seems like a wall of worry that we're climbing. That might keep it going for a while.

Yes, it's Energy Up and Energy Down...NRGU NRGD. They also have Bank Up and Bank Down...BNKU and BNKD....I am watching for a bottom to grab some BANKU...but it's been down and down and down....

I would have totally bought me some UWT (oil 3x fund) when we had that one day where futures were in the negative, but then those bastards took it off the market.
