My coworker who runs the lathe, here lately he brings me a job after he gets his part done and explains to me that I have to machine part of it in the mill then proceeds to tell me how to do it. It's a pet peeve of mine, let me do my job.

It would be different if I had just started working here but he and I have been out here in the shop together for 25 years. I know what I'm doing (I think).

My boss just let me test our .27 powder actuated tool that somebody said didn't work. Oh, she works just fine. I went through a whole 10 rounds just for shits and giggles. Day is better

 

Story time.

This morning I came in for my usual routine: Log in, drink water, open repair systems and gaze unto the expanse of shit I have to do. Anyway, there are a couple of sticky notes on my desk that read "Impact driver, call so and so after "this coworker" shows you photo. Warranty voided, store cannot replace, customer must call Milwaukee". So I think, hmm, sounds like it's been dealt with, so why is this not-a-problem on my desk? Guy finally comes in a few hours later and I ask him, "da fuck is this?" He shows me a picture of an impact drill snapped in half at the base and I just start laughing. "What's the issue then?" "Well, he wants it fixed and the manager yesterday said we can't fix it and he has to call Milwaukee" i say "oh, we can fix it, but he's gonna be charged up the ass for it because, as stated on your note, this is not covered" He asks, "do you want to call him?" Me, "nope, you can though. I already know how it's gonna go and I sure as shit ain't havin it today".

Well. Had to resubmit that order for the Ruger last week, checked today anddddddddddd.........canceled!!! Apparently they were already allocated to other orders and i didn't make the cut, even though the first screw up was on them. So, what do i do? Go for another of course. Found a nice on in OD green without all the flim flam and will be saving a pretty penny...assuming it too doesn't get canceled. Fingers crossed ladies and gentleman.
