    I just like them thick and creamy or cheesy. I use milk to thicken it up most of the time.

    There’s very little southern food out west. It’s a shame. My other half is from AL/GA/TN so he enjoys the southern food I make.

    Those are some mighty creamy grits tho. Been wanting to try some with heavy cream in them. Supposed to be how the restaurant's make them when they do shrimp n grits. Still trying to figure out how 8 shrimp and a bowl of grits equals out to $23 at the beach restaurants. lol

    But if you ask him, his favorite food is anything including rice. Pork katsu, fried rice, etc. He learned that rice is NOT to be microwaved when I took over the kitchen.

    I also use cream. I start off with water and as soon as it starts to thicken, I cut the heat and add either milk or heavy cream. You will need more salt to counter the creaminess. I’ve made a mean tomato bacon gravy for my shrimp and grits in the past. :drool:
