If I had an actual house I’d be more tempted. But I’m in a townhouse. I’m only a mile from the beach so most people don’t even use AC here as it’s usually cool. I really only need it in my office as I’m in here 90% of my day and the windows face west/southwest and take all the sun beating all day. Plus heat of my PC adds to it. I just need a concentrated solution in here

You talking about a mini split with the condenser outside? If so, I don’t want to spend the $1.5k for the unit + install fees. And I don’t have anywhere to mount the condenser.

If you’re talking about a portable AC, I can get one of those, and it’s likely what I’ll get. But it’s pretty bulky and the room is only about 140 sqft. Granted, it’s only use is for my office and a guest bed for the few times a year I have overnight guests. I’m trying to figure out the best option still.

This is what I’m working with for space. That stupid effing bookshelf is my girlfriends and she doesn’t want to get rid of it because she’s had it since she was a kid growing up but it’s falling apart and takes up too much room

There are alternative units you install yourself but we have a portable for emergencies. It’s hot as all get out down here and you never know what can happen. We’ve used it several times now it’ll turn than room into a fridge.

Ya there's a lot of options, but I'm not looking to spend more than a couple hundred. If this damn Covid would go away I could just go back and work in the office building with free AC every day and not have any problems!
