I have an obd2 Bluetooth adapter I bought a few years ago. I paired it to a laptop to make some changes on a Ford I had.

I'm wondering if this is something I can pair to my phone to display tranny temp when I'm towing with my Tacoma. Anyone doing this? Got a good app (Android) you can recommend?

I know the Tacoma has probes for both the pan and torque converter but I am using a Scangage II so not sure about any other devices/applications.

I found my Bluetooth module. Apparently I had bought one of reasonable quality. It's an OBD-Link MX.

After checking their website I found this is the old model, but the newer version of software supports the old device

Getting it to pair was a bit of a pain in my rear, but eventually I got it done. I'll spend more time dialing in the software later, but after just a few minutes I was able to get both tranny temps to display.
