I've constantly mentioned October and it's been in the original post since last year.

I need to tag the CA members tomorrow and hope they reply to confirm; if they are or aren't going, and when the best dates for them are.

I have an open schedule for October to take vacation, just unsure of others.

Would be nice to make it a bit of a 2-4 truck caravan out there in case someone breaks down or something along the way.

I am elk hunting Oct 8 -14ish so I will probably not be able to take additional time off that month.

I haven't been accruing vacation time since the start of COVID

Really? Shit...I wonder if I have or not, wouldn't be surprised if not. Hadn't even thought of that though and I used up nearly all of mine when the baby was born in Jan

Guess I better hop on ADP

Yep, as soon as we were sent to WFH they stopped accrual. Also told us no bonuses for this year either. I'm just glad to have a job.

yeah same here, nothing really changed for me other than my workload since they furloughed the only other person in my dept. as well as probably 1/3 the rest of the company over the last 6 months.

Would rather have a bigger workload than no job at all, especially right now that's for sure.

I've been through Moab a few times trucking but never wheeled there. How is the camping around those parts? I'd wager with the amount of people that frequent that location it might get a big thick. My normal would be to seek out a campsite other can't or wouldn't want to get to, but I don't recon that would play out well in Moab lol.

I will mostly be there to camp and see the sites and do some mild trails. Really going to hang out and meet some TW peeps as I don't have any off-road buddies sadly. I am not into the hardcore stuff personally, but it sure is fun to watch others mangle their stuff

I plan on flying in from NC just to watch people do exactly this. Hopefully the dates work in my favor...

I will attempt to address the topic with the significant other unit in a delicate and convincing manner, hopefully tonight

Tell her its a business trip and you need all your camping gear for a photo shoot with Patagonia gear or something.

haha that's straddling the boldfaced lie boundary a little too much for my liking lol

We've talked about the trip awhile ago but things have changed quite a bit in the dynamic of caring for a 8 month old vs a newborn

Basically I'll just have to promise to return the favor, which I'm not thrilled about but fair is fair lol. We'll see though, if circumstances are good tonight I'll bring it up. Like I mentioned a few days ago we've been sleep training our daughter lately so circumstances haven't exactly been ideal lol.

Also, if those coming from CA want to make it a caravan, I'd be happy to get that arranged amongst some of us.

Checked my employee portal at work and apparently I've got 72 hours of PTO, sweet. At least that won't be an issue but since I'm the only one in the dept I'll have to give them a good heads up.

Yeah I am open to pretty much whenever in Oct. Weekends are nice because of less time taken off of work but either way can make it work. The later the better for me, just because I am gonna try and get my flatbed done before that... but that doesn't matter either way.
