I've never heard a real reason, just all of our speculation and guesses.

Toyota thought americans would not enjoy AC OR with MT as much as canadians haha. Just like they thought canada does not need DC SB OR with MT and AC sport with MT.

Toyota does funny things like that, such as not offering JBL with a manual.

But who the heck knows, i would love to know their reasoning.

Yup. I love details like that. It thrilled me that the Taco Truck guy posted up.

Honestly, the JBL thing makes sense to a point. The bigger question is: Why in the world would they not specify the JBL connectors be the same as the rest, or vice versa? This is Toyota and their Lean Manufacturing / Kanban that gets soooooo widely preached. That would have been like the Pro grille not fitting the others.

I mean we do have SB Dc Limited as well. Toyota thought canadians require a long box as well if they wanna ride in style haha.

    Oof!

For me, it would have been the Jeep forums researching death wobble, leaks, and electrical failures. Also, I would have been fighting off the rest of the fam wanting to drive it. For some reason, they haven't bonded with the Taco and that is okay with me.

I wanted an MT AC OR so I wound up just getting a 2nd gen, since Toyota doesn't seem to care about the American MT market [not that I blame them but it is really lame when you can get something in Canada but not here config wise... ]

I too would like to hear the real reason these things occur..

Took me about 6 months of patience but I wound up finding a 2013 Spruce Mica V6 ACLB MT with 53K miles in as mint a shape as they come at that age..

I refuse to drive an automagic, they make me angry & I needed the OR/Locker so it was the slow boat for sure - -

I have a PTS in my 2011 MT BMW 128i and that f**ker locked me out - in the garage but none the less, I was not happy and now I roll down the windows when I get gas out of fear - even if is freezing. . .

I bought a 2019 TRD Off Road 4x4 with double cab & Manual Trans late last year. The dealer had 3 MT versions on the lot when I was there. I had a bet going with the wife over this fact. I won, and I got to buy my truck. I can't stand an automatic trans.

I had 3 prior Tacoma's in that configuration and would have bought it again if it had been available, that said I ended up liking this DCSB more than I expected.

Here in Canada the TRD Sport is available in a DCLB manual. Only a handful in all of Canada when I did a search on Autotrader so they are pretty rare.

In your specific case, Toyota made the right call not offering MT DCLB no? You bought it in automatic anyways...

    this and that...
@6MTPro: yeah man. it just wouldnt work. i dunno the reasoning behind it, but the system just wouldnt allow it to turn over. you would gain momentum to pop the clutch and the car would sound like its ready to turn over, then bam, stopped in your tracks with an error message on the info display. i dont even know if you can get the corolla in that configuration anymore because of that. trust me, i tried more than a few times too, kinda irritated me to know it wouldnt. my past manual toyotas?

    05 corolla xrs
    06 scion tc
    08 xrunner
    13 tacoma trd or
    13 scion xb
    19 tacoma sport

    18 corolla se prem

the difference between the first list and the second? keyed ignition. kick starts no problem. 1st, 2nd, R, whatever! the second list? push button; yeah, nope. lol

There are no DCLB TRD Sport with MT in canada, or anywhere in the world.
