Used to stall periodically backing into a tight spot at the house on kinda deep gravel - Kinda embarrassing in front of the kids (who I made get M/Ts in their first vehicles) - not any more though

Sorry if this question has already been answered, but I was wondering if you hit the 2LO button, then turn the knob to 4HI and leave it there, would it do any harm to drive it like that? If I'm understanding things right, the truck should still be in 2HI right? Is there anything that is actuated or turned off that would be of concern since the truck thinks it's in 4HI? I wouldn't normally drive it like that, but I can see doing it maybe a minute or two before I need 2LO so it has time to do all its beeping and switch to what it thinks is 4HI, then switch to 2LO when needed.

That is another of my favorite uses for the 2LM. You can drive on twisty roads and still get in 10mi of 4wd per month. I noticed this morning that that TCS Off button quick press wasn't doing its thing in this mode though. I need to reassess to be sure. NBD though, it was just wet and I wanted to play in some corners.

This is also great because the only straight section of road where I could flick in 4Hi for exercise flows at about 60mph. No need to wear that syncro now.

You'll still want to actuate real 4Hi every once in a while to keep the ADD actuator free and happy.

I hear you there. I've been twisting friends' arms. It's always an excuse or an event. Last w/e, it was "too hot / too dusty."

    Just gonna go solo.

@Karminski is correct, however this is my original recommended checkout procedure

Post wiring check-out. When 2 Wheel Low mod is active (and truck is placed in 4hi or 4lo), the front wheels will not differential (jacking up front wheels, turn LH wheel forward or aft and the RH wheel won’t try to turn). When the truck is in 2Hi normally, front wheels will not differential. When the truck is in 4Hi or 4Lo, the front wheels will differential.

There is a slight change to traction control if you do this, but it is no issue and nobody will notice.

To continue on, but nobody should care... It only affects the short press of the VSC button between these 2 states. In real 2hi, short press VSC will be Trac On, VSC Off (aka AutoLSD). In spoofed 4hi, short press VSC will be Trac Off, VSC On... (for reasons I have never understood).

Study the visor stability control quick reference chart between 2hi and 4hi, should make it more clear... not that it matters at all.

Just be careful out there. Solo wheeling is always risky

    "Too dusty".... Wtf.

Nothing too adventurous on the stuff that I know. The top of the priority list is getting a winch on the receiver plate that I got. Gotta get a wiring kit first. Soon!

It’s close in my opinion, if you got the ‘new blue’. I think it’s just a little brighter.

I wonder if the right resistor would time it down just a little.

It has never been enough for me to notice. My guess is that stuff is all board mounted?

The old trick was to put some tint in the non-matching blue ones, I believe? A very light piece might do the trick?

Somebody recently on here opened up a switch and swapped leds because, well... OCD. Can’t remember the motivation.
