That's awesome you know how to weld. I learned how to weld over 15 years ago. When I started out as an auto body technician.

Thanks Dave for installing my parts on my truck the other day! Your coo dude and thanks for torquing everything to specs. I will definitely be recommending anyone that’s needs work to you.

I know how to do a lot more than just weld. Not everyone can create and fabricate. Like I said if you compared what we both do it’ll be easy to see why I make the big bucks. Are you doing work at this level?

Lol. It hard to be considered stealing when people are knocking your door down to I’ve you money. The outcome may look the same, but when you pay me it’s for the details and the little things you’ll never see. Don’t get too caught up thinking I wanted to work on your truck. I was just trolling you with a quote. I pick and choose the jobs I do. Hate to break it to you, yours wasn’t gonna be one of them.

Also people are paying me the same for all the work I do, because I will approach the installation of a basic lift kit with the same effort and dedication to a perfect install as I would a race car I was installing a roll cage in. It’s not the level of detail everyone wants or needs, but I’d prefer to cater to the crowd who appreciates that type of work. I can only fit in about 25% of the installs people inquire so me it’s about taking on the jobs that will allow me build the best trucks, not so much the guys looking for the best deal.

I don't disagree with you. Though I've done my own fair share of fabricating, I know I'm not at your level or even trying to compete with you. I have heard only great things about your work. :hattip:

Dammit. You’re no fun and actually seem halfway decent. Now I feel like a dick. Which I will

Lol, sorry to disappoint. I’ll have to admit, I’ve been getting soft. I think it’s all that time on Instagram. The hate level is so much lower there.

I understand... defending isn't needed though.
We are all good guys and have our own niche to fit in. He covers big boy toys and leaves the mall crawlers to the up and comers, but can't help make fun of newbies looking to score a great deal.

Not what I said at all. I value my time at one price. That’s what I’m selling, my time. I don’t discount my time for people because they aren’t looking for as nice or complicated of work. That’s what this comes down to. I’m pretty sure at one point in time I went out of my way to loan you some parts you needed to get your truck back on the road (never got them back, but that’s not what this is about). I knew that you weren’t ever gonna build a truck like your stating, but I still cared enough to help you.

for the record I don’t have any problem with you or with working on any kind of vehicle in which the owner wants a proper install. But at the end of the day I can’t even fit in 25% of what people ask me for quotes on. This isn’t a competition for me. There is enough work for everyone. But I will defend what I do and what I charge every time it’s brought up.

Everyone sees halfway decent welds and thinks I’m asking a bunch extra for it. Incorrect, I’m charging for all the extra hours spent fitting and putting in the detail work that will allow for tight fit up and good welds. It’s the shit you don’t see that people are paying for. I understand people don’t get it, but at the end of the day those guys might be suited with the mechanic that’s interested in hanging out and having a few cold ones with the customer while they work thru the install.
