They'll fix the driver side by moving the bushing to the passenger side.

New to TW... recently lifted my truck and experiencing the vibration issue.

Are there any cons switching from a bearing to a bushing?

Cons: being frustrated that you didn't switch earlier

None. My bushing has been in for over 150k miles. Most aftermarket manufacturers use a bushing rather than needles.

I’ve had a 3” lift for about 1000 miles and no vibration yet with the stock bearing. If that changes I’ll post again.

I just started getting a very noticeable vibration that comes through the steering wheel between 35 and 40 mph. Is it likely the bearing?

Put it in 4wd and if it instantly goes away then it’s your needle bearing.

2017 TRDOR - 27000 miles - lifted the truck about 1.25" with Bilsteins in the front. Took about 600 miles for the rhythmic vibration to show up between about 32 - 39 MPH. Does go away in 4wd. Now I cannot find a shop to replace the needle bearing with the ECGS bushing !!! Really becoming a pain. Still looking.

If you're near Central TX, I can help. If not, you may have to purchase the removal tool and go to a Transmission shop to get good service.

Thanks My Friend. If i did I'd take you up on your offer. I'm in Western, NY. I did not order the bushing and tool yet. I'm trying to find a shop that at least "sounds" like they know what I'm asking, then I'd order the parts immediately. Just looking for someone who seems to have a clue.

It's not a terribly difficult swap. Little bit of youtube and you could do it in your driveway, assuming nothing medical gets in your way.

Back in day I'd give it a shot without question. Unfortunately I guess the time has come to have someone else to do that type of work. I'll keep looking and see what happens.

Are you active in your regional thread? I've done the swap for other members in my area. I'm sure there are others that would do the same if you asked. All I require is a cold sixer :p

    Oh man!
I'm doing the same thing to my truck next week but hadn't planned on the bushing.
    Maybe I should re-think that.

Actually I've asked in my regional thread and there were a few suggestions but just names of places that may be receptive to do the job. I checked them out and unfortunately their person "at the desk's" goal was to sell me a lift kit. They didn't seem interested in my real question.
As far as the 5100's go, I really like them. Ihe ride is great, everything is good. I would plan on the bushing if possible. Again, I have not had the vibration "professionally" diagnosed but all the symptoms are what everyone says they experience so before I ever think of taking it to the ****** I want to try the bushing.
