Better without. It takes away from the cool hood scoop.

If you take road trips in the spring when bugs are active, you will not have to stop by gas stations to clean your windshield if your car has one.

Think of it? By the laws of Physics! It isn't possible for that little thing to create enough of an updraft in the distance from the front of your hood to your windsheild to make a Damn difference.

If someone has a wind tunnel with those smoke things?? You'd see that the air stream passes over that thing like it wasn't even there!

    Total "Snake Oil" BS!

Even if you rigged a compressor to blow a stream of air straight up from your front bumper, to create a wall to blow bugs upwards??

Once you're moving at 60 mph, that would be worthless!

Get rid of the Stupid deflector! It doesn't do anything!

The only thing for sure it will do, over time is damage your paint!

Pics of my white '11 are in that thread, and I looked at deflectors before deciding to go with film. I'm glad I did, as I couldn't find a clear deflector, and think smoke on white looks bad. Also, not having one, yet still protecting the paint, is a pretty decent solution.

My 2000 prerunner came with one; I left it on there for about the first year and then got sick of dealing with it and tossed it. I saw no reduction in bug accumulation, but it did collect every leaf and pine needle that fell on my hood, keeping things damp and ugly and promoting rust. Worst of all was that it kept the snow from sliding off in one wet slab when cleaning the car off, and would always hold onto some of the snow I couldn't dig out and then spit it back at me once I got moving.

No Physics or bs here! just pure experience going to Vegas in 2 different cars in the spring, one with deflector and and one without. If you know physics, prove it.

Nah! Put it on your truck! Great device! I don't plan on wasting my time convincing you that the "world isn't flat"

    Good Luck with your deflector!

I like them, the rock chips around here cause a lot more damage than anything else.

Try the 3M clear bra. You won't get rock chips, and you won't get damage from the deflector.

Not on the sport. A little too busy on the hood for my taste.

But if it works for you check the link below. No contact with the hood and has nylon screws and anchors that go right in the holes in the hood. It "flips up" on the back edge, which appears that it would be better aerodynamically at moving debris over the hood/cab.

I have one on my off-road and I think it looks decent.

It's more about deflecting debris and bugs for me.

Not a fan of hood protectors, although they admittedly look good on some trucks.

No one is using the Clear defelctors painted to match the truck color? Had one on my Yukon and had no problems with paint chips or rubbing. Thinking about either going that direction and the 3M clear bra when I get the front end cleaned up... Too many chips already.
