I figured that the 90 degree one would make it so the filter holds all the oil when you unscrew it. Pictures > words. :notsure:

Oil is still going to come out of the mount though. Won't be tons sure but enough that over time be oil everywhere anyways. Id rather just be able to reach under the bumper and swap it out.

It comes out right where you can easily catch it, instead of dribbling down the engine block and eventually the x member. And I just want to reach the fucking thing easier, I could give a damn about the mess. I don't want a bunch of heavy hoses and another filter mount snaking around the truck looking for places to get punctured or hit.

I can agree with that sentiment, there was a segment of wiring/loom going to the maf on my 95 Tacoma that almost eroded a hole in an aluminum ac line

Only a matter of time till most trans cooler installs will get a hole In their hoses

I don't see how it's going to make it that much easier to get to or clean up. But will be cool to see it on your truck to convince me otherwise.

I have to change the oil every 3ish months mind you. So yeah..I don't want a mess hahaha

I'm about as often on changes, even split with the cruiser, except right now. It will be tons less messy that the stupid stock almost upside down setup. I dont mind the 5vz, but for a measly 40 more horse puppies it sure does have a lot more annoying shit to work around. I haven't been home in almost a month, but when I get back I'll put the thing on and let you all know what's up. I need an oil change right now anyway.

Won’t be doing anything to my Tacoma for a while. I’ll be living through your work; keep those pics and write-ups coming.

NM is one I'm looking forward to. The Continental Divide Trail goes through NM too (obviously) and I don't know which I want to do first. Will probably depend on how much time I have...
