Sorry Juke, hopping in to your thread.

I've got sliders, wheels/tires. I have 1k to blow, but it doesn't hurt to save some. Generally, I drive mild to moderate trails but am starting to want to tackle some more difficult stuff and I felt like all of these were reasonable picks. I was thinking either 6112s and buy the 5160's when they finally are stocked again, a full skid set, or maybe an on-board air setup? Open to any and all suggestions.

Depends on driving style. I went IFS skid, then sliders, then winch, then rear bumper, then lift (6112/5160/dakars), then made the rest of my armor. As I encountered a need for the next item, I added it. I can say that armor was probably the smartest buy, but I was amazed at how many fewer things I hit after lift compared to before. I made the brackets and mounted a Viair 300p (recommend the 400) under the hood for cheap. If you're smart, you'll plan your lift for what you will weigh when you get done- including gear. I will be adding a full front bumper, so I'll have to change coils. Just did a long CO trip full of gear and found out I really need Dakar heavies, so I'm taking the pack apart this weekend for another leaf. Less fun doing it the second time.

Thanks Pilsner. I like your reasoning. Makes sense to me to protect your investment, I think a new skid is in my future then. Also, how are you like those 255/85's? I've been eyeing a set cause I like the height, but not the weight of 285s

Since you've already got some good advice on the ride with the wheels....Gonna need some more pic's w/ multiple angles to make recommendations on modding the wife. Looks pretty good from the back-side already!
