Personally I would park it and get it fixed as soon as I could. I don't know though I've never had a blown HG. But it's one of those things the longer you let it go on the worse it'll get

What's funny is I have a new in box o2 sensor I bought last year...it's in my storage with other Toyota parts

I may grab it today as I need to get a few other things out.

Just going to woof down these bacon ranch chili cheese fries since I didn't get them last week like I said I would

A damaged head gasket is going to get slightly worse with each thermal cycle of the engine. Load on the engine and run time duration will definitely make it worse but even going side streets and babying it for 10min it's still going to come up to temp and then need to cool which is going to be bad for a damaged head gasket.

For the least amount of "total" money in repair parked it now if you're able and save up for the fix. If you don't have that option, and are in desp need of the truck (I've been there) check your fluids before you start it. EVERY single time you start it. It may just be dumping coolant into the cyl today, but eventually the damage will make it's way to an oil passage and when those 2 mix you're going to have a bad time

Why don't we fix it then we don't have this pesky code?

I just picked up new front brake lines from digiratus (dontknowhowtospellhisname) they'll go with my rebuilt stock calipers (that I need to finish rebuilding lol) and get em installed when I pony up the cash for the OME kit, that'll take long enough, you'll probably be ready to mail me that rear extended line and I can get everything in at once:rofl:

I cant believe you waiting this long to fulfill your chilifry craving :anonymous: willpower bro:fistbump:

Only been daily driving the Tacoma for months now.

Exhaust doesn't smell so it's not pointing to a CAT.

Then there's the +60-70 hr work week.

    Nice

Full OME kit as in leaf pack and all?

I keep throwing around the idea of pulling out a leaf, or completely replacing with a general springs HD leaf pack.

And yet you had time to decode the very thing you knew would be the inevitable P420 code. Just put some electrical tape over the light and put it on the list of stuff that may or may not get done....ever....

Hey now, if it's anything other than the P0420, I need to know cause I take care of that shit quick.

I remember doing the 12hr round trip to So Cal and back, only to notice a leaking transmission pan.

I was already into it the next morning bright and early to replace all the fluid, clean the filter, and put new FIPG in place.

I mean....it's a Toyota....how often are you possibly going to get a code? That's why you bought it right?

Yea I'm going with the nitrochargers full Dakar and probably 883. It'll be harsh I assume for a long time but I'm eventually getting a plate bumper with winch so I don't want to have to buy springs twice.. I run my topper year round and use the bed as a bedroom 97% of the time so I'd estimate my rear at a solid 300 extra pounds all the time... debating if I should go with the Add a leaf as well... im lazy and don't want to install it later

I'm not saying you don't maintain shit once in a while. I only get codes cuz I buy used shit to flip and the previous owner neglected stuff. The '00 I'm working on right now has had a code since I bought it, I know it's a coil, just haven't taken the time to fix it. I was too busy converting it to 4x4. I'll do it later this week now that I have the truck sold.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Means Mode 01, there are 8 modes of OBD II function. Code reading is the 1st and most basic, hardly requires any features besides the basic standard code library. Most cheap tools only use mode 1
