Im Curious to see what the aluminum colored bed rails look like on the bed of a Magnetic Grey Tacoma when the soft topper is not in use.

Any photos would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know if they are easy to powder coat black?

My MGM Tacoma has Black accents with no chrome or silver so the Soft topper bed frame would throw off its mojo.

I am certain that PC would be great, but plain ol' matte black paint is working for me. I only have pics before they were painted, but they look good.

I've also seen pics of @Shellshock 's painted on QS and a lusty Spruce Mica 2nd Gen.

    Blacked out just looks good.

Definitely paint them. I need to get some matte paint and redo mine. After like 2 years mine is finally starting to flake off.

I thought I had one, but it's black Taco. This guy did kick off the whole ST paint deal for me though:

If you decide to get one . Piece of advice replace that garbage foam seal they put on the track bars .

    Doood.

The foam does its job exceptionally well. Fills the problematic contours of the Taco bed rails and doesn't leak.

When you pull the rails off, you'll hear and see how nicely it functions.

Cool, thanks for info. Looks like no horror stories from painting the bed rails black so far.

I do not think I will put in the time to do the supporting frame but it does looks nice fully blacked out.

I have tried very hard to stay away from chrome as you can see. So cant stop now

Yeah. The frame is waiting. I have an LED strip mounted and such.

Good work on your wheels. The stockers look a lot better blacked out.

I had to pull the ST off to grab some boxes.

    Here's the painted rails:

@tonered the black paint looks good! Did you paint the Clamps or anything else on the soft topper black?

    Thanks!

    Yes. Rails and clamps.

I plan to do the frame later.
