love the neighborhood, older homes, unique homes, wooded, large lots, etc.

we were considering a home in there some time ago, I believe it is on well water, and it listed as "community well" My kid thought he would have to be hauling buckets of water from the well

yeah they have like 6 community wells...I got pretty close with a bunch of owners in there while I was "working" at my buddies house/shop...so they are looking out for potential sales before they hit the market, hoping to get something soon, if not Denver is still being considered as a top contender.

 

Y'all talking about public schools and after all this shit I'm sitting here trying to figure out homeschool groups and finding a better private school.

I don't know about where y'all live but here man the kids in the neighborhood is worse for friendships and play dates than playing by yourself. City folk are weird and the craziness and over protectiveness of parents.

I miss the days of when I grew up. Kids these days know nothing. I got blessed out by one of my kids friends parents for hiking them through the woods showing them paw prints of deer, raccoons, we found a snake and explored. The kid loved it the parent thought she was going to die. Needless to say she doesn't have that friend anymore

Newton is cool. Catawba county taxes are nice. The city is a fkn mafia over the water, sewer, trash tho. It's 85 bucks a month now

85 bucks for all that?! My last water bill was 122.77 and it's just me and my wife. We get charged an additional $30 a month for garbage pickup and garbage cans are banned here where I live! Cant wait to GTFO and see this place in my rear view!!

 

It has went up 25 bucks in 2 years. So we may be hitting those prices soon...lol.

They charge you a flat fee effort 3000 gallons, whether you use 50 or 2900, all the same price. That's what irks me. I am gone all week and average 800 a month, I should get a break...lol

I was really surprised how "relaxed" the cop was.

 

Around here that would of gotten you trying to incite a race and some exhibition of speed yada yada yada. Especially if you were revving at eachother right behind the cops. I was really surprised they didn't hop off the bikes and address that right away.

 

Ours used to be like that, then they installed those digital meters and now we get billed for actual gallons used. Our garbage used to be included in our property tax bill, then they decided it was "more fair" to just send a flat bill to evreyone.

what tablet is everyone using as well? I'd like to use the same app but with a tablet that doesn't cost a fortune. Although I do have a very old ipad mini, but its too damn slow. It does have LTE so it's got GPS without needing a bluetooth adapter...
