I have a mini cooper to drive otherwise which is the gfs. No way to bring it 20 min to a shop without fuckin her interior up

You might have to have a 'regular' mechanic pull and install it, then farm out the refurbishing the head to a dedicated head shop. The head shop I went to did nothing but heads, they had heads everywhere. But they didn't do any of the remove/replace.

You might consider getting a remanufactured head too, but with shipping that would probably cost more than if you have a local head shop.

 

I've got good 3.4 heads. Two sets I think.

 

And two bad bottom ends. 3.4

 

They're not too bad to transport. Wrap it up in cardboard and set it on the floor, it'll be fine, and so will the interior.

JK I know what thats like. The missus would let me take her 01 corolla if I was in a similar circumstance (she's offered 100s of time already during the course of my repairs) but I decline cause I know me well enough to know I'd accidentally fuck up her interior

Got some goodies out of my storage for ya

 

Think imma order the HG, take it with me to a mechanic, have them pull the head, and I'll run it to a shop while the trucks apart, take it back if good and have them reassemble. Im just so fkn exhausted tearing into this truck the last 2 months in this 120 degree weather. Just want it fixed

Call integrity auto. They specialize in yotas, quoted me 2500 for the valve job and comes with 1 year or 12k mile warranty on their work.

Now that I got it out of storage, I'll replace it one of these days



Fucked up part now is finding out where all these parts go. I ordered them all as a means to replace gaskets, crush washers, snap rings, etc. with the 4x4 swap.

Need to find out what is manual hub specific and get rid of it since the 4R is ADD

 

I would be hesitant to use the lowest bidder on a head gasket job anyway, unless it was a mechanic friend that you trust

Using the lowest bidder on a clutch install fucked me good 4 years ago and ended up costing me triple what it should have in the end

 

You're gonna finally replace that O2 and it's just gonna end up being a bad cat anyway

 

It definitely wouldn’t hurt. But also not a whole lot to gain vs a good trans cooler
