So you all are so quick to troll.. and i love it!

But i still want my E-Brake to grab and not just a little. When i pull a trailer or boat and have to park on a hill and dont want the weight of the truck and the trailer resting on my truck trans as im sitting in park I need it to GRAB and not just a little tension.

But keep the good time trolling!

On the first gens the cable is two or three separate cables, can’t remember. Go on RockAuto and put in your year and you’ll see how many pieces it is.

    I assumed AT, 2wd, and SR5 trim.

    https://parts.villagetoyota.com/a/T...6726507/PARKING-BRAKE--CABLE/674470-4601.html

Looks like there's 3 cables...one from the cab to the rear and then it connects to two more each of which go to a rear wheel. Someone that's more familiar with 3rd gens can comment and confirm. I don't think trans and engine change the brake design, but the trim level definitely changes the cable and assembly that's in the cab. On first gens the trim (base 5 lug, vs 6 lug) makes a pretty big difference in the brakes.

    so per Toyota Part Numbers

    Passenger side : 46420-04141 for $108
    Driver Side : 46430-04111 for $105

Not sure about a 3rd line. Guy From Toyota didnt mention it. But he was just a parts guy, not a tech.

anyone know of a cheaper place to get them or if aftermarket is any better or worse.

Look at the parts diagram, I’m pretty sure there’s a third cable in the first diagram and two more in the other diagrams. Considering I couldn’t find them on RockAuto either aftermarket is gonna be tough.

there’s one website I can’t remember the name of, it’s not car-part.com or parts geek. Anyways you can check car-part.com. Or shop around on Toyota parts websites, there’s a couple that usually have good prices. Someone else will have to chime in with the names. I usually use village Toyota.
