What hammock do you guys have? Sorry if you posted it before.

Some of the Clark hammocks seem to give you a lot of room. They have the poles that stretch the hammock out so it doesn't conform to your body as much.

Or you could always go with the two person hammock. This would be very interesting in my opinion. The design looks great, seems to be really functional for both people. BUT the price is ! Guess you'll have to split it with your partner.

I have the Hennessy Expedition Hammock. I looked at the 2 person but the difference in price was not appealing to me.

does anyone know of a 1-2 man tent that will fit in the bed of my truck? ive been lookin around now for a while and they have all kinds of odd shaped tents but i cant find one small enough and free standing to fit

i also have a toolbox so its gonna be hard but i think its doable right?

Maybe something like this? I doubt you'll find much. With the toolbox and the tailgate down, that only leaves about 6' of bed length. Not many tents are sized that way. Plus, you'll want a door that opens toward the rear of the truck, not a sidewall door like on a lot of tents.

Not to mention that there's only like 3.5' of space between the wheel wells to get the floor of your tent into.

You might be better off with a bivy sack. Like or

Joseph that is a sweet tent. Man if I were you I would get a Jacket for your kennel like I have for my dog...that thing will keep your pup way warmer than a tent. I was at Pismo freezing my ass off and she was warm in her kennel. Just a thought. I think it is safer too cause if the dog get spooked in the tent by wildlife that can be disaster.

You might have some trouble with that. Like Yellow Dart said above, the space between the wheel wells will be an issue. I would suggest making some kind of frame that goes over top of the wheel wells and go from there. This will also give you some storage area under the frame to put camping stuff. I know some guys have posted their trucks with the bed tents in the Live thread. I have no clue where they are though in the thread. hopefully someone can give some input that has one.

after re-reading your post, are you looking for something like in the link above or just a normal tent that you can throw in the bed if you want?

I'll definitely check it out, Tri. That sounds easier for sure. I'll hit you up when I get back from Maui. Hopefully, it'll fit in the "bed" of my Samurai also.

yeah ive been thinkin about the frame to raise it up. and i really dont wanna spend a lotta money i just wanted to try and find a little tent that i could throw back there

you could also rig up a tarp set up. That is what I did with my truck before I have a topper on it. put the tarp up over the cab and open the doors and shut them with the tarp in between then run it down the bed and secure to tailgate or something and tie the sides down.

Yeah, it's just a bivy sack. It's made to keep water off your sleeping bag and a little room for your head and that's about it.

The good news is that if you're sleeping in the bed of your truck, that's really all you need. You can keep gear, clothes, valuables, etc locked in the cab or toolbox.

If you want space to hang out and play cards and stuff, that's a different story.

    This will work!
    http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-Zeus-Classic-Single-Wall/dp/B0022UZASI

Couple things though, the vestibule might not work because of the tool box. AND its not the best warm weather tent, but I know for a fact it fits between the wheel wells and it has the door in the front!

Warning: Make sure you seal the seams before taking it out!!!

lmao i thought my setup one time was bad with the ez up over the bed.

anyhow, heres some of the most "interesting" camping ive done, for those of you from northern california you may have heard of "houseboats" on lake shasta for memorial day weekend ... well we were too cheap to rent a houseboat so we took my 9' raft with the 6hp 2 stroke out there, towed all our shit in another raft, and camped on the island!

my boat being towed by a friends houseboat
    tn_S5033871_1fdfc2c204b6ee91e8c863ac258c46255ed4b21c.jpg

when i first got there towing my gear
    tn_S5033840_ee0d8e35111c8e08b51e7a15d49b26fa4be608f3.jpg

    tn_S5033843_5421afe3c5ff82306e25b09649de45786393fe3e.jpg

then my buddy brings some of his friends, we cant all fit in raft #1, so yup, they came in the tow boat too!
    tn_S5033860_f49eb98510a821c189fa912f65fbd109593b88c8.jpg

definitley one of the best weekends all summer, more pics here

as for hiking, to me its for people who dont have / cant ride mtn bikes :D

everyone loved us ... only thing that sucked is i had to haul my boat out the water every night and put it up by the tent with a tarp over it cause first some jackasses tried to move it, then some other guys tried to steal it
