    This message for Matt at OV tune. I believe that the labeling of tunes for 04B30 on 2019’s is incorrect.

    I have run a multitude of the regular fuel tunes from thx to stock to 35 and all of of them caused preignition on hard throttle and downshift.

    I decided to try two of the premium tunes with regular fuel and the preignition is non existent.

    I have over 20,000 km of Canadian miles on it since 2.0 final release.

    I'm right there with you. I've actually flashed back to older 4.88 tunes with GL then back to 5.29 2.0 for certain tow trips. Ideally Gearlock will help, but i need to figure out (once we get the file) how to custom tune in vftuner the TC unlock tolerances. hoping i can make it all work out once we have access.

    KDMax 6.0, RC 3.5" lift, RC cold air intake
    So I tried really hard to like 2.0 base 87 octane non-thx on 04B04 but just couldn't stand it. Tried the THX, too much surge power. Went back to the 19800 beta 87 tune. I've seen a few others have this issue as well on that ECU and am curious if anyone on B04 had better luck with the premium octane 2.0 base final tune. If so, does the shifting feel as good or close to 19800?

    I tried them all!! None are as good as the betas. I run 19770. Even the cruise control is good on the beta. I really think the 04b04 2.0 final is different from all the rest.

    Agreed, guess I'll have to wait until the complete files to be released or try and mess with the editables. Would you by chance have that 19770 file that I could try? What octane is it?

    This is true. The one caveat is that running 91 on an 87 tune won’t take advantage of the full potential of the 91 tune ala timing etc. it won’t hurt to run 91 in the 87 tune, you just don’t get the peak performance you would otherwise.

    Agreed. My 2.0 really isn't that spectacular. Now that I have my laptop I need to flash an older beta. Is 19800 the one with the crazy tip in?

    Didn't Matt say that either tune will arrive to the same place eventually? Personally I'd rather a tune adjust from 87 to 91 octane rather than having all parameters readjusting itself with a new flash just to have it get to the new octane but that's just my thinking. I get some pretty poor gas mileage for the first few hundred miles as a new flash figures itself out. I also prefer to run 92 all the time (even on the 87 tune I'm running now) cause it drives better and gets better mileage than on 87. But again, that's just my preference with my truck.

    I think the threshold is higher w the higher octane.
