    bulge...lol:rofl:

I just did this mod and I was having problems getting everything to fit within the A-pillar. I ended up having to disconnect some of the fasteners with the stock wiring and shifting things down and it still doesn't line up and fit perfectly.

Yep, that's what I did also. The A pillar has a small swell to it, but it's livable.

Installing puddle lights now. Can anyone tell me where this small rubbery piece goes exactly? I think it fits inside the door handle somehow. (Also, I separated the whole door handle instead of just the door handle cables).

    Thanks!

It’s a trim piece for your window. Goes on left corner of driver window and just sorta rests in the window sill. Or the right corner of the passenger side. Took me a bit to figure this out too:cool:

    This rubber piece?
It would sit on the window frame closes to the bpillar.
In the picture top is the bottom, and the door sheet metal slips inbetween.

    Like so.

This may have already been tried, but doing the install tomorrow and adding luminX amber film over the puddles...not sure how weather resistant this will be or if it'll look good but figure I'll give it a shot.

Yeah someone did this and looked good but takes down quite a bit out of the light output.

Good luck with the install and post when your done!

I installed my puddles a couple months ago and when I went to start my truck I thought I heard a fuse pop. Checked around but couldn’t find it and everything seemed to work fine so I wasn’t worried. Turns out it was the 5A panel fuse that controls the climate control backlighting and the auto dim. Haven’t driven at night much since COVID so I never noticed it wasn’t working. When I replace the fuse, it pops every time I turn the headlights on. Another member @Hiebster has had this same issue. Has anyone else had this problem or have any insight to possible solutions?
The most annoying thing is the auto dim on the infotainment not working, it is very bright at night:cool:. Otherwise I could live with it

Hmmm... I think @MESO should weigh in, but I would look at the puddle switch and make sure none of the wires have been compromised (i.e. look for cuts/chaffing... may be grounded out causing your fuses to pop). When it gets figured out, please let us know the resolution. I have mine still in the box waiting for the v5 turn signals to come out (I want to install them all at once).

Are you running a puddle switch? There is a wire in the harness that is Illumination and it runs into the door. It's the unused 2 pin plug. Double check it isn't shorting or pinched anywhere.

Not running a switch yet. I need the ECT stealth DIY kit so I can free up a space for it:D I’ve unplugged at the A pillar and reconnected to stock and the illumination lights work normal but when I plug back in the puddles and then turn on the headlights, the fuse blowso_O

So I spent a little while going back and fourth with MESO to diagnose the issue. He was really helpful and I discovered the issue was coming from the wire going from the wire harness to the light on the drivers side. I must’ve wasted 30 fuses with all my trial and error of plugging in and unplugging wires to diagnose it. MESO sent me a new wire and as I was replacing it today I discovered that the wire got caught in the door hinge and cut the wire. Creating the short. Decided to run the wire a little differently through the door this time to try and prevent that from happening again. It could be that you’re having the exact same issue.

I think it might be the one to the right of that. I can't look right now, but I believe the 2 left ones are both ground? Easy enough to tell as the two ground wires merge into one, so it's the the black wire that doesn't do that :) The wire that Caribe Makaira is pointing to is the ground for the illumination though, if you want to make the switch dim.
