Hope everyone’s been doing good !! Anyone camping Labor Day weekend ? Looking to get to some cooler weather !

 

I wouldn't mind getting out somewhere

 

I got Thursday till Tuesday off

 

I'm off Friday and Monday. So I get a 4 day weekend!

 

I was just thinking about taking the wife (and maybe doggo) up to Red River/Ruidoso/Cloudcroft, but I havent been up there before so I'm not sure. Was just hopping on here to ask if anyone has been up in the area.

 

That area is bad ass according to my parents. They have been traveling in a REVEL for a year now. Im pretty jealous!

 

I may try to head out to Tyler state park if i can get a spot!

 

Thats not a bad idea... I looked at the weather in NM and it was 78 yesterday mid day and got down to low 50's at night... that sounds incredible right now.

 

Just got back from there. That area and elevation is wonderful! The Lincoln National Forest is plenty big to get out in the woods and away from all the people. We spent a day in the Cloudcroft area on some of the Forest Service roads. There’s Aspens groves up there, which is awesome! We came home through Ruidoso, end everything looked closed up. So, I’m not sure what’s available to do in the area besides camping. I used the Gaia GPS app the find the trails and used it to mark way points of places that I want to go back and camp, so it’s worth looking into.

 

You can see White Sands National Monument off near the horizon.

Ive resorted to watching Formula E. It's kind of entertaining but no way I could sit and watch a whole race. GT racing is my favorite. close 2nd is vintage trans am racing.

 

I went a couple of years ago Labor Day weekend to red river , beautiful place only camped one night but would like to go back

 

Formula E is cool on the small road courses. Watched Ford V. Ferrari with my chick a while back, and now she's hooked on IMSA. She digs the Blancpain series too, since they're the baller cars.
