After making the wife drive around the block a few times so I could listen to the annoying squeak in my truck from outside... I finally found where it was coming from.

Somehow I lost the nut to the sway bar link in the spindle :notsure:.

    So bye-bye sway bar!

...you can usually find it in a caulking tube at the Big Box. Way more than you’ll need, so look around the house for windows/gutters/foundations/hot tubs/swing sets/etc. that need some TLC before you snip the nipple on your million dollar tube o’ goo.

Who knew reinstalling my sway bar would cost so much!

New brackets, bushings, bolts, and end links are going to run me $150 :annoyed:

sway bars are stupid and defeat the fundamental engineering advantage of an IFS...

the may also keep one from flipping a small, front-heavy, lifted vehicle with oversized tires in an abrupt maneuver at highway speeds, so there’s that.

It's true, I agree! I've been running Icon COs with 700lb springs with no sway bar for 5+ years now and loved every minute of it, no ragrets lol.

But I just bought and travel trailer and converting my Tacoma into a towing vehicle so that's the reason I'm putting it back on.

Found 22ga. wire for my navigation install.
Going outside in a few to drop the blower motor. Vibration (not bad) at higher speeds so there has to be something in there.

Are you going to disable the secondary air injection system? I guess you could put a block off plate on or install a set of headers since the ‘06 computer doesn’t see it.

You didn't save the parts when you took it off? I got a big ol box of "factory parts" collecting dust.
I am keeping the sway bar and all hardware in case I do end up towing regularly. (looking into some kind of camper for the future)

Yeah I guess i threw out the brackets and bushings when i took it off 5 years ago. And the boots on the end links are torn too, probably from being stored and moved shops a few times. Keep everything! lol

New sway bar, $150. Not tripping over the sway bar while it sat on the floor of the shop, priceless.
