Are there any areas in need of evacuation helpers?

I would be down to go help now that I have my Taco.

A friend of mine sent me a picture of one of our favorite camp spots. It’s gone. Or, should I say, it looks as if it’s been razed. We called it The Giving Tree. Unfortunately, it appears it’s given all it had now.

I feel as though I am now experiencing fatigue. It has been one experience after another where one feels as though they have no control of their personal engagement with each new natural/man made disaster.

I feel for all those affected/impacted by this years most disastrous events. It makes me thankful for the community that we find support with.

I’ll tip a cold one tonight to y’all.

It’s little moments like seeing your favorite campsite completely eradicated by these fires that really puts things into perspective for those of us who aren’t directly affected. I don’t know your campsite but I can sorta feel your pain from here.

It is a very dark year, on top of a dark past couple of years for us Californians due to these fires. Even to those of us who aren’t extremely affected. It’s literally hitting close to home. I can’t help but feel a little sick with how helpless we are to all of this. All we can do is evacuate where needed and help each other out.. and try to hope for some steady rain to get California somewhat green again someday.

I will answer any call for help someone I know needs, but until then I’ll sit and hope for the best, from a distance.

If anyone here needs anything, holler.

WTF Toyota. I called Toyota Walnut Creek on Tuesday for the wire harness for my left front wheel speed sensor. The guy says we don't have one in stock but I can have it tomorrow. Cool. Call me when its in. That was Tuesday. I planned my day on Wednesday so as to be in that area after noon. Got my errands done in the morning, called in the afternoon on my way south of 680 in Concord. Sorry Don, it's not in. Some shit about it being a manually pulled part system for that part. Or some such shit. Be in tomorrow (Thursday). I call today to see if part is in. Well, Don, they definitely have the part, and we should have it probably by tomorrow (Friday). WTF? When I called on Tuesday, the only reason I ordered the damn thing from them was because I would have it in hand on Wednesday. I think I bought the last one online but can't remember where I bought the damn thing. Fuck fuckity fuck fuck.

Oh, and the fires still suck. My eyes have been burning all day. the fire around Vacaville is ZERO percent contained. The fire in the Southbay is 5% contained. damn.

Been inside a couple of parts warehouses and everything is manually pulled.

You could try and repair the harness. Best case, you now have a spare cable.

Thanks! About to go home 20 miles from here. Our work campus will be fine, they do a great job of keeping a defensible space around it.

Is Hilltop Toyota out of the way for you? They’ve got the best parts department I’ve ever come across.

Not bad. When I first talked to the dude he said the only shop that had them was Marin Toyota, according to his computer. Since it was supposed to only take a day I said order it. Going to be three days at best. Dick. Amazon had a knock off 20 bucks cheaper.
