Welcome to CA! What kind of trails do you like? Rocks and hard stuff or fire roads and not so hard?

If you want some good medium I like the some of the offshoot trails near fordyce, actual fordyce for extremely difficult. Rubicon for medium hard stuff.
Or just pick a fire road for some easy cruising, I like gold lake and deer lake for mellow runs.

    Wrecked!
Fishing isnt that great in this area in the summer time water temps get to hot and the fish go deep and less active. I know this is an old post but if you want good advice on what fish are running in the local rivers and what works or what to use, talk to the old guy at Fishermans Warehouse, he is super cool and will tell you what is working at what lake your going to, he may even tell you your wasting your time at some spots. It sounds like lake fishing is what your going for I would get a kayak as you can cover more ground. bass fishing you need to find the fish. spring and fall we have good stripped bass fishing, right now salmon are running you tube sac river salmon fishing you will find some good info and locations for bank fishing for them but its more like combat fishing.
For lakes that are close that have good fishing check out Pardee, camanche, oroville, berryessa. all have good fishing especially in the spring and fall. The best bass fishing in the valley is striped bass in the delta river systems. The feather is well known for it. Getting a boat is a game changer when it comes to fishing.

Update caught some bass! One in a pond by Roseville and another in Auburn. (less than a pound each)

Then got a really great deal on some kayaks and caught this 3lber by Pine Mountain Lake:

Now, to figure out a better way to transport kayaks in my shortbed...
