I had my front seal replaced. So there was lots of oil under the engine. Now there’s oil seeping onto the pair steering pump. Would that be valid cover seepage or timing chain cover seepage?51892F4F-4FA6-4482-B37D-66E07C7A93E8.jpgA5C2FF78-42BB-43A4-BDD0-6BCF07CC8C4A.jpg

yeah I have that same darn leak on mine too. I just try and keep it cleaned periodically until I get a chance to fix it. No small task. Thanks Toyota

I use Super Clean degreaser to keep it clean. Years ago I asked the manager at Advance Auto parts what the best degreaser was. He told me Super Clean. In fact, he said they used it to keep their parkng lot clean. They just go out and spray some on oil spots and the next rain will wash it away.

Spray it on, let it sit a from minutes and spray off with hose-end sprayer. Reapply if necessary. I have OCD about dirty engines. Hate to work on dirty engines. All my cars have very clean engine compartments even my Tacoma with this nuisance of an oil leak. Heck I usually don't even put the beauty cover back on my motors once I pull them off to work on them. That way I can see better if there is a leak somewhere underneath or where the engine is getting dirty.

Check that inspection plate gasket. Mine leaked just like that covering the ps pump. I was in fear it might b the timing cover leak. Took the plate off and could see where the oil passed between it and the head. Replaced the metal gasket with the grey gasket maker, wiped the engine and pa pump off. A year later still no oil
