    Hey gents,

Hope this isn't too repetitive of a question.

I came across a Tacoma that I think is a good deal. 2014, low miles, off road and was told the suspension was stock. Dealership was asking $26,900. Pictures weren't up on the website yet.

The hiccup is the truck has aftermarket suspension. And leaky CV. Dealership said they would fix the CV. Also, what's with the quart oil container underneath the filter? Is that a thing? Carfax shows excellent maintenance hx.

Are these suspension components good? Sorry to punt effort and ask instead of do my own research. Currently at dealership.

looks like your standard toytec lift. Quality components, although I'm not a fan of the spacer. Tons of people runs spacers and works fine, so if you are ok with the ride quality, id keep it. Unless they are coilovers, then you are golden. Now that grease explosion on the CV joint, thats something id be concerned about...

    Under development
I wouldn’t worry about the suspension. Could be worse
And easily fixable if you don’t like it

Yeah.....I would ask for a new axle....not just a boot. If it's been torn for any length of time that joint is probably compromised

I think those are the top hats for Toytec’s coilovers?

It does look like the previous owner did a pretty decent setup. Not sure how much the coilovers were cranked, could be the reason for the blown CV boot

The bottle was most likely left after last oil change. Whoever changed it forgot it. When you pull the oil filter there is a hole it leaks into right there. Just throw the bottle away or save to use next oil change if you do yourself.

Thanks guys. Putting a refundable deposit to hold it for independent inspection. I just don't know enough about truck suspension. Will likely take it to off road mechanic for a look over and piece of mind.

That seems high? All weird oil catcher/lazy tech bad CV boot aside. My 2009 double cab TRD OR, top of the line for that year minus the crap jbl audio was like 29k cash brand new in 2009...are used trucks really that expensive? I’m more grateful for mine each day.
