Hard to say. I register all my services in the Owners section of toyota.com, including type and part number.

If they deny a very unlikely warranty in a friendly and thoughtful way (as has been my experience at my dealer), then I will grab a 3rd member or whole axle from a salvage yard.

I also doubt those bolts are checked. I've checked the torque year after year on my 01 tundra and they have never changed. I think their just covering their butt by stating it in the owners manual.

Good info. I am pretty confident that they will hold torque. Usually the trucks that I see with drive shafts on the ground are either bro lifted or clapped out.

Except here in the PNW. Easy weather and almost no lowland snow. The number of pristine Pickups and 1st Gens is staggering. Mostly the biggest issues if parked outside are fogged headlight lenses and potentially moss. :D

Even Russian Loctite on my Ural was barely an issue. Of course, part of that could have been from all the fluid leaks? :bikewheelie2:

Tons of taco's here in ct and western ma., mostly 2nd and 3rd gen's. Very few gen1 tacos in comparison. The salt/sprays they treat the roads here alone will devour a hundai in a few years. Imo, its being wise to treat the undercarriage with fluid film or something similar but longer lasting.

Yeah. I grew up in PA. My folks had to trash a car due to frame rot near the fuel tank. It would have cost more to fix than the car was worth to them.

Back in the day, we didn't do much to them but run them through the car wash every few weeks and rotate them through the attached one car garage. There was enough heat seeping in that the cars had the opportunity to dry for the most part.

I have a can of FF on the shelf. I have been meaning to treat the bare metal underneath for fun.

How the hell did you manage that

Now I just feel dumb and might try this again. I ended up getting a crow foot for this and it was still by far the most pain in the ass experience

I can't remember exactly, but it was something like a deep well, a long extension, and a short extension.

I do remember that I could get to three of the bolts, then had to reposition to get the last one because I had it in 4Hi so the shaft wouldn't turn.

Crows feet, or a longer torque adapter would be easier, I think?

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Careful or the "torque nazis" will yell at you for using too many extensions and possibly even reversing the spin of the earth.

    Length doesn't change torque.

In for the reverse spin though

I've got one of these, it's great. Set it for how many pumps, and pressure, pull the trigger, and go. Arm up in the frame, gun on the ground, bingo bango, done.

I'm a torque nazi myself because if I don't use a torque wrench, things will get busted.

Wobbles are even good within a certain range, as noted by aircraft manufacturer torque specs.

    But, yeah. HF, FTW! :D

did mine finally. Had to use vice grip needle nose pliers to push the grease gun fitting on the zirk on the rear prop shaft point. Either that or a whole bunch more work. Worked great.

I have a 2017 and only have Zerks on the front driveshaft, wonder why yours has them on the rear driveshaft as i thought they were discontinued after 2016.

My bad. The rear zirk on the front driveshaft.

Gotcha, that makes more sense, was thinking maybe someone swapped a 2016 driveshaft or U-Joints.
