    No worries at all ... I understand and agree with you. My only point is that as that data becomes more and more abundant it will slowly be more admissible (lots of cases all over the place on a state by state basis on the use of that data). I fully understand your position and you are right. But the case law is changing and I could easily see the insurance companies, for example, using the data to raise rates or deny claims in a broader sense -- not just as it relates to an actual incident.

    Not on my they didn't. :). I got tire and rim insurance for my BMW ... cost something like $1K. I have replaced two rims and three run flat tires on my current car. Those run flats are expensive. I never hear of tire insurance but it was worth every penny !

    I have seen dozens of ECU incident read outs and not one had a date or time associated. It is all drive cycle information. Most of them self record over a certain amount of drive cycles. We have insurance company’s try to use the recorder info against clients all the time.
