That looks like it’s gonna make the speedo way off. How far off is it? Gonna have some very worn out 35’s available soon if you need to step up tire size to correct it.

I should’ve mentioned that the old one was off, read about 10% slower than my actual speed. This new one is the correct size and won’t get chewed up by the output shaft, although it’s still 1 or 2% off since I’m running slightly larger than factory-size tires

Also I don’t think I’ll be able to fit 35s anytime soon lmao

I’m running the spacers still. The front clears if you hammer back the pinch weld with or without spacers and the rear fits without any tweaks

Went camping over Friday night and did some exploring all day Saturday. Over 70 miles on rough, rocky trails. Made about 8 water crossings and saw a cool bridge. Now I gotta break out the shop vac because goddamn I got dust all over the cab

Some pics from my trip up Broken Arrow today with @snowsk8air2. Any time I can put my 4wd conversion to work is a good day, had a blast in Sedona!

Did some maintenance the other day. While I was at it, I extended the front diff breather way up to the top of the engine bay. Definitely got some water in there on my last camping trip

With this semester at school finally starting to wrap up I've had enough time to hang out and think about my long-term goals. Seems pretty foolproof if you ask me

Hoping to at least get some skid plates on this summer, so look forward to that, too

I've missed out on quite a few COVID-19 sale superchargers the last two months.

Yea apparently there was one for sale down in Phoenix recently that I missed. Just needed a rebuild kit. Wish I was in the market for one, but that'll come once I've graduated and get a decent job

Been doing a lot of sitting on my ass this summer, but here's some little shit that I did lately.

Noticed that my AC condensation tube drips straight onto my frame and exhaust manifold, so I decided to extend the tube down past both. I wouldn't even call this a "mod" but it feels good having this on just for my own sanity.

Did some suspension work over the weekend. Now that my 881s have settled all the way, I moved the seat clip on my front shocks up a notch to level out the ride height. No more crazy stinkbug stance for the Taco! It's worth noting that the back end is still slightly higher, and that's intentional since it'll sag a bit when I'm loaded up with gear and supplies.

Also replaced my outer tie rods since those were pretty worn out. Upper balljoints are getting replaced soon as well, since I don't really need UCAs and the balljoints that came on my manual hub spindles are starting to go.

Been busy as hell this summer but here's a quick rundown of some shit that happened this past month:

    IMG_9437.jpg
    IMG_9438.jpg

Wheel fell off because I'm a dumbass and didn't tighten my lug nuts after leveling my suspension. All my balljoints and control arms are okay so I just needed a new wheel, tire, and fender, no biggie.

    IMG_9509.jpg

Scored a wheel from @BrownMike, can't thank the guy enough for hooking me up.

    IMG_9643.jpg

Got a set of two new tires, moved the good front tire onto the spare so now I have a matching spare.

    IMG_9711.jpg
    IMG_9712.jpg

Repainted all my wheels so things are looking pretty clean. Still needs a new driver-side fender, but i'm gonna see if I can't find one on my way through Phoenix next week.

what brand of air mattress are you running?! I’m looking to maximize the space that I can in the bed.

Just like to know the Dimensions of your Mattress as well as the brand.
    Thanks!

    It's a cheap $10 air mattress from Walmart. Don't know the brand but the dimensions are 39in X 75in X 8.75in

Yeah ok sweet! Did you try fitting the full or a queen air mattress back there?

Because wouldn’t ya say a twin is a little small to be fitting two people. Me and a friend on it every so often? That’s why I’m curious to see if something bigger will fit.
    Thanks!

A twin is all I can fit between the wheel wells. You might be able to fit a wider mattress, but you'd have to find a way to get it high enough that it clears. I've never had a +1 while camping so I've never had the issue of space, so this setup just works for my purposes and with my truck.

You mean by finding a way to fit it around me the wheel wells like building a platform?

Just stumbled upon this thread, but figured I'd toss in my 2 cents. Sew up some magnetic insulated covers to attach to the windows. Seen them on a few other truck cap sleeping setups. As for the tailgate, could just put in an insulated panel that attaches to the roof and hangs all the way to the bed at the rear and is able to be rolled up out of the way when not in use.

    Yeah pretty much

Since this post I’ve improved my setup with some spare foam padding from work. I wanna get some insulation panels and fit some Velcro to them to stick them to the sides, but the rear is perfect with the foam setup. Wish I had a picture but I’ve gone camping this way a few times now and it’s been much better. Part of my problem too was that my sleeping back was old and worn out, and just wasn’t insulating well to start with
