I like the way they hold the truck steady in curves with no sway bar

    Good point

A darn 18 wheeler blew a tire right in front of me in the interstate this week and I had to do some quick corrections to my line of travel. I don’t have a sway bar and I was glad I had the heavier OME springs.

Valving plays a large role too. Many moons ago I went from OME 90000 (stiff shocks) and 886 coils (660 lbs) to Kings with 700 lb coils. I had a noticeable amount of more body roll when I went to the Kings. It kinda blew my mind.

Now I'm on those same Kings and 600 lb coils and I feel like a trophy truck going around corners with all the body roll lol

Lol. I had 5100s (firm valving) and 886s before I put these kings on....I had no body roll then and it feels about the same now.

Why did you drop from 700 to 600?

From the get-go the 700 was too stiff. I would really notice on potholes/backside of speed bumps because it would harshly top out/decompress. So I switched to 650 and it was much better. Then I shed some more weight up front (~40 lbs) and dropped to 600. Huuuuge difference.

All the curvy mountain roads I ride I would get sea sick but the lighter springs do ride better

In a situation like that I would opt for the compression clickers. Firm up the valving when needed. IMO being oversprung to combat body roll is the wrong way of going about that.

I’m thinking about just leaving the 700s for the bumper that’ll go on down the road. I sure did like the plush ride of @Iceberg kings with 600 lb springs though.

valid point. And the shocks need to be revalved for the heavier springs.

I wonder if I could just buy a reservoir with compression adjustment and put them on my shocks.....
