Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
where is this file hung again?

edit: or just the v14 portion. I am trying to help out @jkauf with his trans. I got him some of the throttle map and some advance timing but haven’t done anything to his trans yet. He is S/C on 3.0 with stock valve body thus far. His credits are on my device.

On my truck, messing with the optimum torque table causes that 4-5 hang. I put my optimum torque table back to stock and it never hangs.

I’m probably losing some power due to torque management, but the trans shifts so smooth and never has any hiccups. Whatever power I may have lost is minimal because I can’t perceive it on the butt dyno.

Interesting. I have definitely changed the optimum torque table over the last few tunes. So I'll keep that in mind. Gonna try my v14 trans tune first to see if it helps

I don’t have any proof yet, but I have a suspicion that when we make changes to the optimum engine torque table that we also need to make similar changes to optimum torque trans. I plan to explore that in the future.

Potentially! Unfortunately those two tables are DRASTICALLY different in shape to begin with.

That was my initial thought. How to convert changes from one table to fit the other table when they have different values in their axes. But, if you start with both tables stock, you can make a different graph for each. Do a log and adjust both tables at the same time according to what your graphs are telling you.

Again, I don't yet know the relationship between the two tables but it seems like you would want to adjust both of them at the same time. My plan was to do an initial change of small amounts and test the outcome before going all in with it.

Examples: Two graphs, same parameter, same filtering, different axes to match what is in the tune. One for engine (air load), one for trans (desired throttle).

I have read about 50 pages on this thread, only so much I can read tho. I have a 2005 X-Runner. In the next few months I will be putting the supercharger on her. I have hp tunners, already pulled the pre-populated tune file from the truck, Long story short, I was wondering If anyone has a copy of a supercharged X runner tune I could look at and use to help me tune my truck when the time comes. Thank you.

When I try to read my 2015 Tacoma with mpvi2 I’m getting a “failed to retrieve flash data” message.
I’m turn the truck to the on position for 10 seconds or so, going to the flash tab, clicking read vehcle, and when I click to read entire, it fails. What am I doing wrong?

Internet connection is my guess. You must be connected to the internet to read/write.

So i have been rocking v14 trans tune for a week or so... but due to covid I am not driving much, especially at freeway speeds (where i was seeing the hang in 4th like others on v13).

If anyone wants to try v14 let me know. I dont want to release it fully to the public yet as I dont know if it actually fixes the hang.

I dont mind trying it out. Will be doing tons of driving right after labor day...going from Wyoming to Minnesota to CT to VT to who knows then back to WY. Will be pulling our little trailer (~2k lbs). Probably be mostly freeway speeds for the most part but will be plenty of FS roads to get to campsites too.

You'd just have to walk me through how it add it to my tune from @JustDSM
