My FIL went up to the house today and it’s gone. 2/3 buildings burned down and no clue how the third survived. Luckily some storage/keepsakes were in the garage that didn’t burn. Crazy to see the pictures and what did/didn’t burn.

Today I loaded my car with as much stuff would fit and put my bicycles on the rack and headed down 17 to drop the car and everything in it off at a friends house in Sunnyvale.
As I descended the hill I saw at least a dozen other cars packed like mine. All fleeing the fire. The house where I live is still standing. I hope the same for those other packed cars. Something about seeing them made me pretty sad.

I may have not been far behind you. Sad day a lot of people. All of Scott’s Valley west of HW17 got an evacuation notice at 5:30 this evening. I’m a few miles due north of Scott’s Valley and that was too close for me. Luckily I had time yesterday and today to load the truck and then say goodbye to the house that may not be there in a few short days Prayers out to those in similar situation and to those who already lost their homes

Anyone up around the Santa Rosa area need anything? Looked this morning and it appears the evac zone is getting closer to town.

Its super detailed. It was all I used last October when we had to evacuate for one of the fires up here. We knew right as it was happening when to pack up and head out of town.

Holy chit! Crazy stuff happening in NorCal. In-laws packed up the trailer and headed out of Scotts Valley yesterday. Ironically enough, there's a fire house half a block from them.

    Y'all stay safe out there!

Looks like there is fire at or near Groveland. There is a mandatory evacuation of the 120 area and the road is closed in the area. The fire is called Moccasin Fire.

I don't know if I believe it, I want to, but the weather man said "chance of showers". I don't see that in my local forecast but at least temps will be lower.
