Anyone got a line on tires? I just went from st maxx 255/80/17 to Toto open country at 255/80/17, and DAMN they are skinny. Even next to the ST they look skinnier.
So they just aren't filling the arches good enough for me.

    A thing or two...
Just finished mowing the front yard and blew the clippings out of the street and off the driveways. I'll get the back yard and do the edging later this evening or tomorrow.

Don't build them exactly like that. They truly suck.

I have them on my truck and have no issues with them.

It seems like a pretty straightforward, simplistic design. I'm going to make them to eliminate the seam in the plastic piece from where I bobbed the bed, nothing more. Not sure how they can be bad.

    Yeah, I noticed the deadness.

Sucks your trip is out. But, cool beans on the bed rail build.

Right on. Debating on doing mine later or tomorrow.

The top is fine. Kind of. They're stuck down on the top with double-sided tape. It's an easy fix for something more substantial.

My biggest gripe was how they attached inside the bed. He was having folks stack foam tape behind a self-tapping screw. There was no way that would last. I ended up getting a flat piece of aluminum to go behind the rail caps and used nut-serts.

Maybe 2nd gen is different, but the 3rd gen ones were hot garbage.

Oh man, self-tapping screws? Yikes. I'm going to have it wrap over and grab onto the T30 bolts that hold the accessory rail on.

That's the best bet. I didn't have that option. The bend could get interesting. It was 3/8' or so indented from the uppermost lip of the bedrail.

It'll definitely be tricky but I'll make it happen. I have a full 4'x8' sheet of 1/8" to play with and pleeenty of time. Other things I considered building were a collapsible fire pit or some extra high maintenance ramps to drive on. Like 12" high because fuck it, and actually wide enough to get the truck tires on. I just don't know if I'll have enough steel for that one.

I just sat down and drew out how I wanted to build them, and it would be cutting it close with the steel I have on hand. These things would be beasts at 48" long, 14" wide and 12" tall and last thing I want to do it skimp on design because I'm low on steel. So that'll be a project for another day.

edit: Maybe I'll just build a mini flex ramp lol

Haha. I could only imagine how much the ramps would weigh.
