I swapped out my 3RZ alone in a weekend. It's not very technical. A hoist, a jack for the trans and some hand tools.

Just stick a glob of clay on the highest point of your motor, and close the hood. Open it back up and the height the clay got squished down to is how much room you have.

I believe the flanges are the same. The lengths shouldn't matter much if your going to shorten it. I have one from a 4r, can't remember the year.

Mind you this was my second full swap from removal to placement. Once before with a 22R. I've pulled engines before or added engines.

After what seemed like 30 hrs, 600 dollars, few broken bolts, 20 trips to Toyota, I’m finally done with the project.
Replaced upper/lower ball joints, rotors, pads, spark plugs, air filter, oil change, and rotated tires.

I changed my oil with the Purp and some Lucas because my block is thoroughly worn in at 325k. ended up using 3 1/2 quarts of oils and 1 1/2 quarts of the Lucas.

    Yes. Definitely good feeling.
Cleaned up what I could get to, and repacked inner/outer ball bearings too. I’ll redo the back brakes when winter comes.

This is what I’m looking into. Any issues so far with the bigger battery? Was the tray easy to install? Where did you find the tray? Thank you!

Just sanded primed and used some quality rattle can paint. Light coats until it was solid.

Just starting the replacement of a CV with a bad boot, and swapping in OME 883's for the 881's which were not up to a plate bumper and winch. Watched @Timmah! video. But he leaves out one of the most important first steps (at least for us East coast guys). Pull the wheels, and break out the pressure washer for about a half hour, to get rid of the accumulation of red clay mud. I wish I had videoed that process, as you desert guys would not believe what gets stuck all over everything.

Is the “vibration” coinciding with a change in engine speed? Usually people say they’re feeling a pulse or a shudder when anything is misfiring.

After a few outings I realized the truck needed a slight bump in spring rate, so a quick trip to the shop and they got them swapped in quick along with my AGM sliders.

This is not something I can do at home anymore with my bottle jack!!

Truck now sits level, even with a good amount of gear, so far so good!

Can anyone help me confirm that 3rd gen 4runner e-locker axles shafts are interchangeable with my '99 elocker axle shafts? I swapped some 3rd gen 4runner axles shafts in my truck a while back, but it's been brought to my attention that the axles shafts between the 4runner and tacoma are different part numbers. I hoping that I haven't screwed up. Everything looked the same at the time, but I did not compare shaft lengths.
