Hi guys, I tried looking for something to help but couldn’t find it.

With all the Covid stuff going on, I’m trying to piece together a kit from various places, but 5160s are hard to find.

I drive a 2019 TRD OR DCSB with a camper shell on all the time. I don’t rock crawl, but having the ability to do a trail every now and again with a comfortable everyday drive is the end state I’m going for. I have no interest in lifting anything higher than 2” or getting big ol whopping tires.

    The goal:
    -6112s (set to 4/5 for a 1.5” lift)
    -5160s
    -HD OME Dakars

However, 5160s and 5100s are tough to find right now. So now I’m thinking of doing:

    -6112s
    -OME Nitrochargers
    -HD OME Dakars

Is this dumb? Has anybody got any experience with mixing up parts like this? How much lift should I anticipate in the back? I emailed the headstrong folks and got some advice, but I’m looking to see if anybody has actually done this.

    Thanks!

I was able to get in contact with them, and they’re very helpful, I was just looking for more advice and to see if anybody has used the Nitrochargers with 6112s.

I honestly hadn’t. Not for any sort of brand loyalty or what have you, but originally I wanted to do the 6112/5160 combo because I assume they’ll play well together, and it seems tried and true for what I’m trying to achieve.

I meant doing the 2.0 front and back. It’s only 150-200 more than the Bilstein setup and it’s a good shock and would give you what you’re looking for. I almost went with them myself.

Oh I see. Well, either way I’ve already purchased the 6112s, so I’m at least going with that. Doing kind of a phased purchase to spread out some of the pain.

By the way, has anybody bought anything from realtruck.com because their website says they have 5160s in stock, but it seems fake to have the work “real” in your name.
