I was just asking in regards to the tundra axle width; not a wheel spacer debate. :rofl:I'm an engineer; trust me, I know the FM's. I wouldn't be using them if i didn't think they would hold up. I just would prefer not to use them. That's all.

    No problem

    This ^^^

It's closer to 71.5" wms to wms

I've seen it compared to a dana 80 but I cant find those pics now.

    9.5 vs 8
    img_0571-jpg_08e955342a37f865a22a262bf39365dd60d10c9f.jpg

    9.5 vs 10.5

    proxy_459592a1db52a5b57540c9c1b192264010c609e6.jpg

I believe stock second gen is around 65" and first gen tundra/T100 is around 66"

I'm pretty sure this truck is still running 2" spacers on the rear axle. Weighs around 7k pounds

Running spacers for 7 years now.

I always like to use a torque wrench on my wheels

I'd rather carry the extra weight vs blowing gears or axle in middle of nowhere

I spent 1,000 bucks on my rear axle set-up with adapters and brakes, much cheaper than a 9"

Dana 80 is a lot bigger like wayyyyy bigger. Dana 80 dwarfs the 14 bolt. The 14 bolt and 70 are closer in size. I don't know why someone would compare it to the 80. The 70 and 14 bolt are same size ring gear and similar pinion and axle sizes. The 70 being closer as it comes in semifloat also I believe.

I must have been mistaken, they probably where comparing it to a 70

Either way I doubt my 4.0 will snap these tundra axles like I did to multiple Tacoma ones :D

i could be wrong i'm no engineer but i'm pretty sure a rear hub bearing will fare a lot better with spacers than fronts anyways. With the axle going all the way to the diff gears some of the load is taken off there with the bearing acting as somewhat of a pivot point as well. Would take a lot more width for spacers to create significantly more leverage vs a front hub bearing where the weight and leverage is more on the bearing since the cv axles don't provide as much leverage to help balance out the load as much since they kinda 'float' a lil and have less mass

I ran wheel spacers for a long time on my stock axle. Never had a failure. I ran that axle to the point where it took a floor jack and a sledge hammer to put an axle shaft in and fluid leaked at the tube seam on the housing. Just check the torque on the nuts and don not over tighten.

Mine are the same as factory where it kinda flexes behind the fender and snaps into place. 1/10 offroad trips I’ll drive hard enough to knock it loose and then I just snap it back.

I’ve seen a few trucks use a piece of flat stock and bend it/ rivet it to the radiator support and trim piece

Might end up just doing a 1” fender washer with a tab where the fiberglass meets the trim piece... we shall see, have some time before they get painted

Finally got my 2nd gen raptor bypass shocks in!
As well as some locked Offroad 2.0x2” bumps.

Just need a nitrogen charge for them all.
And recommendations for pressure in the bumps and shocks?

I’m excited to see how this setup performs.
