This is actually a good point. What about food consumption and elimination?

If he came home from the trainer fine and he's been working with the trainer, probably not related to training.

Real quick tho, take a look around the house in places the pup likes to hide. See if you find things that shouldn't be there. Like chewed up bags or anything.

    Yeah.
Something for sure happened, but if things calm down for a bit he should come out of it quickly if it doesn't happen again. Ruling out a medical issue first is a good idea, especially if there is no obvious trauma. Things as simple as wasp stings can freak them out for a day or three.

Not judging, but I really don't understand sending a dog somewhere else for training. IMHO the most important thing is forming a strong bond. I personally wouldn't do it, but seems a lot of people do.

Don’t know if it is normal, but my guy will just take off for the closet, any closet if the weather is going to get bad. He is a rescue and it is just weird. He has got worse as he has got older. We just leave him be and he will come out when the weather passes. Food wont get him out, nor will a walk or trip in the truck. All the things he loves is completely over ridden by his fear...
Even the door bell ring will only get a half arsed “woof” from the closet, instead of his usual excitement to meet whomever rang the bell

Did he have a long retrieving session in the water? First time our old dog got ‘swimmers/limber tail’ he acted like that... tail between his legs, peeing like a girl, really nervous if I tried to touch or stroke him...

Hope it works out to be something simple...

The puppy is a lot happier today lol. He was bouncing off of the walls earlier because he got exited over some thing

Meet Mango, our new kid! 45 minute ride home must’ve been rough, puked twice, now she’s sleeping. I’m glad I brought extra towels!
