This needs an explanation ... :)

EDIT: I would love to see a chart showing each Taco and discount off MSRP over that 12 unit span!

Also I’m guessing this story has been told before based on your message count so apologies in advance.

It has numerous times. Single guy, no mortgage, no kids or wife, good salary and get bored with vehicles, pretty much sums it up. And with resale on these if you do good buying new, its not a big loss, especially given tax credits for trade in, etc.

Hey Ya'll, Firstly thanks for helping me shop for my TRD-Sport. After shopping around with dealerships all across the country I ended up finding a dealership that worked with me on a:

    2020 TRD-Sport
    RWD
    Cement
    Double Cab
    5' Bed
    LED Headlights and Runners
"Standard Package" (I don't see anything extra-extra on the paperwork I have so far)
    Removed All Weather Mats
    Removed Touch Keypad

Out the door (before my previous loan payout) $30,663.30

The only downside is its 20 or so days out from delivery from the factory (and a 6 hour drive to handle the trade and pickup when it gets delivered).

    Now...the wait begins.

Thanks! It took a lot of looking at KBB, AutoTrader, and Cars.com. And even then finding a dealership that was willing to bargain was the key.

I could type up my whole story, but the first dealership I was ready to buy with lost the sale over an $800 "Admin Fee". So when I found the one I bought I made sure to make it very clear that I was ready to buy, and pre-approved, and I wasn't going to take any guff.

I still paid a $699 fee, but you bet your ass I made sure they took it off the top.

I'm a little sad after some reading that I very likely don't have blind spot monitoring or the backup radar, but I didn't have those on my car now either...so I'll live. I have CarPlay and the bed outlet, that's good enough for me now. Still pretty excited for my first truck after many years of being a tiny-fast car guy.

Also, yeah, 2WD is good enough for me too. The most "offroad" this truck is going to get will likely be pulling into a campsite or driving around in my grandparent's back field if I'm too lazy to walk.

At that price you most definitely don’t have the tech package.

I wouldn’t either. He also said OTD after trade. Curious what the price of the new truck was prior to. OTD is such a useless number, especially if he had equity in his trade.

That makes more sense, about 10% off MSRP. Good deal in this climate.

What was the vehicle that you traded in that they gave you $4500 for? Maxima?

A 2013 Nissan Altima SV with ALMOST 100k miles on it. Actually it will end up being a little over 100 by the time I drop it with the dealership.

Dealership left themselves some room to make money on the trade. Kelly blue book trade value is $5400. Still in the ballpark of a good deal compared to what others are getting right now.

Yeah, I probably could have argued on the trade a little more. But they beat the price of the other one I was looking at. At the end of the day I'm pretty happy with what I am getting.

(Unless I break down and see if they can add Blind Spot Monitors and Backup Radar while it's still at the factory).

So you basically paid $33,6xx.xx for a double cab sport model? Brand spanking new? I still think that's about the correct price for one of these in that trim.
