Yeah I believe so. I moved here a few years ago so I would double check. I’ll keep an eye out! It’ll be hard to spot me. I’m in a 20 cement off road that’s pretty stock aside from a lomax cover and tpu bumpershellz

Im in Collinsville so Im not too far from there. Before covid, the wife and I would find ourselves at Crabby Als often on weekends. Also drive through Torrington and Litchfield every now and then.



HAPPY FRIDAY! Grind this day out, then the weekend. I took Monday off to get the ecgs bushing installed.

Spent yesterday afternoon touching up the leafs with some etching primer and semi gloss black because UPS wasnt too gentle in handling them. They are about 75 lbs a piece and were not boxed so I get it. They are just leaf springs and will see their fair share of abuse, but with the salt they throw down in the winters, a little coating of paint never hurts. Also built a pallet for the bumper that will allow me to fit a jack underneath, and jack it up to line it up and install it. I need to have the winch installed inside the bumper before mounting and with a combined weight of around 230 pounds my scrawny ass wouldn’t be able handle lifting that, let alone lining up the holes to bolt it to the truck. The spring compressor for the coilovers should come today, so thats on this weekends docket.

 

Bristol here, my fiance and I always go through thomaston and drive the rt63 corridor a lot. And I also go fish the Farmington River often so you might see me around.

Not yet. Hoping for today since they told us 2-3 days, and we got tested on Wednesday. The results come through via Quest Diagnostics, so they told us to create a log in on their site so we can check. I checked this morning, but nothing there yet. But it was also super early this morning when I did. Going to check again later.

That is a utility trail that I happened to find in my area that was left open...

Since we lost power last week I figured I'd check out my own utilities to make sure we were good for the future

 

How are these for uca vs the freedom offroad ones? Anyone have any input?

 

Spc is what is going on my truck. Heard lots of good things about them but no first hand feedback yet. Cant attest to the freedom off road ones but i think @Blais03 is running them and seemed to have good things to say.

 

Fire/Utility roads will probably be all you can get, since most of the gates around the state have been closed to vehicles. You cant call them "wheeling areas" more just gravel roads that run through the woods. A lot are in nice wooded areas which gives you somewhere to get out into nature and see different things especially with the seasons changing. The road that you drove in Naugatuck counts as a fire road. I have driven that road before, at the top is a hunting area, so be aware of that since it is hunting season. Most of the time it works out better if you stay on the trail instead of going into random mud pits lol.

Most of them will still have a defined Street name so you will be able to identify and follow them on the map. Just respect the land and always know that their could be hikers and people walking with pets.

I'm good. But thanks anyway Chris! Mine should be OK once I get my tree stump back upright, that my dish is on. Then it'll just need to be re-aligned. Haven't had a chance to go talk to the guy up the road from me that has his own backhoe, to see if he can come help me out with it.

Morning team, update on the headlight replacement. I found a ton of cool looking replacements on Amazon with LED’s and projectors and daytime running halos and all kinds of stuff. But the reviews said they didn’t put out nearly as good a light as stock. Looking cool is nice but seeing the road is priority for me so I ordered a pair of OEM look alike headlights. There are several cheap options but some people said they fogged up quickly so I spent a little more for a 2 yr warranty pair. Total $150 for two headlights. Pretty good deal if you ask me. Should be in this week and will get them installed.
