I did a little reading up on the bike and I dont think the aero bars would be a good fit for riding in an urban setting, so it's all yours since you'll be using it for its intended purpose anyway.

Brake fluid recommendations...I know the manual calls for DOT 3, any harm using a DOT 4 if I am flushing/replacing original fluid?

Figured that's my plan, grab what's free and supplement!

Figured it's more about changing it for corrosion/water seepage into the fluid (or so I've been reading)...plus I'm putting the front and rear crown braided extended lines that came with my suspension kit, so it just seemed like an ideal time to just replace the fluid post line install.

Thanks Jeremy, hope all is going well out in Arkansas!

Yeah. Brake fluid absorbs moisture, so it's good to change it out occasionally. It's specifically called out on my car's maintenance schedule to do it every 30k.

All good out here in AR.

On said topic of brake fluid.. I've always run the ATE TYPE 200 (in amber) in my vehicles over the last 15yrs.. Why?? Maybe the numbers, possibly the metal can to which I do like. Not sure really. I just got hooked on it years ago and keep running with it.

This is not something you can run in and grab off the shelf at any store. Even though some say they carry it (today) on line. So, I have always bought it from Tirerack.

Did a little post-trail inspection after yesterday's excursion and saw that I got a bit of a rash. My instinct is to hit it with a brush and throw some black spray paint on it, but wanted ask if there was some other sage advice on the issue before moving forward. IMG_20200821_151730.jpg

There are “rust converter” primers so I’d wipe the area down, hit the scuffs with the primer, and then follow with some paint.

Luckily the RCI I have in the front is taking most of the abuse. That said, I definitely have plans to trifecta the bottom with some Mobtowns' once they get caught up with their backlog..... As I'm still patiently waiting on some sliders from them.

As promised, made some steel bedside cap things today. Killed a few hours this afternoon. All I need to to is paint them, will likely do that tomorrow.
