Ordered 2.5 King Remote Reservoir W/ Adjusters EXT w/ 700lb spring front and rear for my 3rd Gen Tacoma.
Ordered full hybrid front bumper , 10 weeks out...

I am going to being going back through all the pages in this thread but if anyone can answer that'll be cool too.

I want to go as high as possible with this setup (or atleast recommended by King), whats the max and what setup should I run in the back to level or lift?

I was thinking about getting 1.5" Icon ALL, would that be enough? Thanks!

Get a full leaf pack in the rear. AAL will be stiff and you’re doing yourself a disservice.
do you have full skids in the front? If not, 650 lb with the hybrid will do.

you’re going to have a stiff ride with 700 and AAL. But what do I know. I’m just some rando on the Internet.

I plan on running a winch and skid plates too so I think 700lbs should be ok.

Thanks for the heads up and the full leaf pack. Might go that route now

What are you planning to add to the rear? I have the Icon RXT leaf pack and am satisfied with the lift and the ride quality. My bed is empty 95% of the time and I run "option 1". If/when I add a HC rear bumper, bed rack with RTT, etc, I like that I can add the additional leafs it comes with.

My bed is pretty much empty most of the time. Not planning to add bed racks, RTT , HC bumper or anything into the rears. Thanks for the info and pics!

@greymachine how much lift total did you gained all the way around with your setup? Is it maxed out at what they recommended?

About 2" in front and 2.5" rear after 6 months of settling (the photo above is right after install when I had 2.5 all around). I'm planning to add more preload up front to level it out again. 2.5" is the max you'd want to lift the front, otherwise you'll be topping out all the time and degrade the ride quality.

Can someone give me a quick nutshell version of how to play with the comp adjuster? I was told setting it firmer is better for higher speeds, softer for low speed/off roading. But to me it feels stiff and I have the front/rear set to 7 clicks.

they are mid speed adjustments so that's the speed where you want to assess your adjustments. best advice i ever heard is to back your adjustments out all the way for minimum compression (and rebound if you have it). then drive and adjust from there adding small amounts of compression & rebound independently until you start to see your truck stabilizing over the terrain you're tuning to. if you only have compression adjustment it will be more straightforward. in your case if you have excessive stiffness you may be oversprung, most trucks around here and even most running Kings are oversprung. Kings run soft out of the box so evaluate your spring rate. do you know that info?

Solid advice right there. If spring rates are good for your trucks weight/needs, you could always send out the shocks to be revalved.

that's another adjustment available on bypass shocks. it sounds like you have the compression clicker so that's all you have to play with. see the bypass tubes with adjustments on each end, blue is compression and red is rebound in the pic.

    Not much stock left.
What is the typical turnaround time for valving?

Current lead times for shocks sent in to be revalved is about 1.5-2 weeks

Has anyone here painted/powder coated/anodized their rear king reservoir mounts?

Yeah, I think I may powder coat mine. I'll post some photos when I do.

    Quick general question:

If the preload amount is kept the same but the spring rate is lowered from 650 to 600... what type of drop in height would one expect?

assuming just skids sliders and tube bumper... nothing really heavy.

I’m trying to lower the truck height by almost 1 inch of coilover shaft but I can’t pull any more preload out. So it’s either a shorter spring or a softer spring. So I’m weighing my options

it’s my understanding that a shorter spring or a lighter spring can be used to accomplish the same goals. Ie. A 14” 600lb spring would translate to a 13” 650/700lb spring. There are calculations out there that can help you make a more educated guess on what you need for you specific setup. Maybe @AccuTune Offroad or some others can provide some better information. But to answer your question, yes, both a shorter or lighter spring can be used to lower the front end of the truck with out changing the preload if I am not incorrect.

Edit: or taking more preload out which I assume is the issue
