Detailing in general, I've always had the belief of using the least aggressive method or process for anything. Wheel cleaner is very acidic and is designed to break down grime. When left in sunlight, or introduced to heat - it will etch into the finish. I'd personally would avoid wheel cleaners on higher end wheels just to be 100% safe.

When it comes to the high end wheels, I recommend only using automotive soap/water solution to clean the wheels. Then wipe dry with a few spritz of a detail spray or spray wax. Agitation with a neutral product such as soap/water is easily as effective to clean these wheels.

I got my bronze caps in, I like the red Rays decal as it'll match my Pro red accents. I think it may be too much bronze on a bronze wheel. I won't know what it'll look like with bronze on bronze. Black caps will look nice, but maybe this route is better?

Thinking of masking this area off, opinions?

Hi folks, new member here with a 2017 trd sport. Want to join the TE37 club and been doing some research to find the right TE size rims for it to be flush to the fender. Looking at either the 17x8.5 -10 TE37XTs or the 16X8 0 TE37X. Anyone here could confirm from those 2 which would sit flush to the fender flare? Currently have the OEM trd sport rims 17x7.5 rims. Thanks in advance for any information here.

I would do the 17 for more tire selection.
Go back a page and you’ll see a post that shows a et0 vs -20

Bronze TE37 are anodized, and some wheel cleaners are too aggressive for the anodizing and will stain/strip it, I've had this happen to a set of Mugen wheels (made by Rays) that had the same finish, unfortunately, there is no fix for that other than re-anodizing it.

Both would be flush. The 17x8.5 -10 would be the more "aggressive" of the two with the edge being being almost exactly flush with the 3rd gen fender flare.

Shoot me a PM if you have any further questions and would like to claim one of our 17x8.5 -10 allocations

    this and that...
i think when i get a hold of a set of te37s im gonna run a street tire. keep the corners light and the truck quick on its feet.

also, when you preorder wheels, do you gotta get em in a set or can you order ala carte? im in no rush to get a here and now, and can afford the wait to piece em together if that makes sense.

ordering them in a set is a lot safer, because if they get discontinued you may be out of luck. You may be better taking some money and throwing it in a savings account just for wheels until you’re ready to buy all four depending how long it would take you to save up.

Does the locking lug just have a slot on one side?

That makes them slightly harder to get off/steal.

I couldn't get a socket on it, standard or metric. But, I'm sure thieves can find a work around.

or the can order a set of these lugs, complete with a (Universal) key  hope that’s not the case, as I don’t know enough about these lug nuts but hope to get educated on Rays’s locks.
