Found a 1994 4Runner on Craigslist.. how much is it really worth?

Hey everyone. I’ve been interested in getting an oldschool
1990s 4Runner for quite awhile now. I found one on Craigslist for 11k. The mileage is at 79000 (that’s really low). I’m not sure if it’s worth that much though what do you guys think. It’s red and looks pretty good in the pictures.

 

Is it the 3.0 or 3.4?

 

Depends I guess what you will be doing with it. Daily driver ? Wheeling it ? Weekend cruiser?

 

Everything really. I mean I have my Tacoma which is my daily driver. But I really want to get an old 4Runner to trick out and bring camping and do all sorts of stuff

I'd get pics of the interior and run the vin # before thinking about spending that much on a '94. Mileage is suspect for sure.

Yup I would never get the 3.0 no matter how cheap it is, worst motor toyota made

 

I just asked the seller and it is a 3.0. Should that be a no then? What could I try to haggle regarding that

 

I would not get the 3.0 period. It's slow and has head gasket issues. You want the 3.4 or 2.7 or the 22re those 3 motors are proven and have given toyota It's reputation. Do not buy a 3.0

 

unfortunately the have a head gasket issue and under powered, a 2.7l four banger would be a better engine

 

Nope and nope for that price.
If you want a 2nd gen, pick up one with a blown motor for like 1k, then swap in a JDM 3.4 for 2-3k.
You'll get lower miles than that one for a 1/3 of the price.
