@Empty_Lord, just thinking about this as someone posted the question on the 4runner forums.

If I had a bearing failure or some other catastrophic failure with my 2uz, could I just drop in a later model VVTi motor using my existing ECU? I'd probably get the motor wiring harness just because mine has broken clips but could I other wise just drop the later motor in place and be good?

My thought is yes, it would work just fine.

Small business. One main PC that was being manually backed to media and carried offsite. I agree about local NAS storage. It needs some type of off-premise backup.

I have a buddy who's business caught fire back and quickly burned to the ground one day while everyone was there working one day. Everybody ran out and left the computer backup disks in the office. They lost all accounts receivable records. There was a month old backup at a software developers' place that saved them from completely going under.

I need to help resolve this one quickly.

Firm no if it's anything like the cable/ethrottle 5vzfe

You'd need to swap sensors and such over from the old one onto the new one

That's because I didn't look at the transmission differences in my scenario

Yeah, I'd recommend crashplan or backblaze then for secure cloud storage. My choice would be crashplan since I have used them before and they support Linux, along with Mac and Windows.

It's an e-throttle. I already know that the throttle bodies are compatible since I am running the VVT intake with a 2006 throttle body on my 2003. Wiring harness lengths are a little different, with the earlier non-VVT like mine being shorter at the throttle body but all you do is run the TB upside down and it plugs in just like original.

Transmission is the same, so no worries there.

I wonder what the vvti phasers are doing, if the engine was at full advance or retard when you pulled it will it stay there as your computer can't control it

Maybe it would give you a code because it thinks the cams are off timing

Double trouble for the ArkLaTex. Dueling storms. This is a record. I'll have plenty of mud holes and creeks to traverse now. Not looking forward to seeing the disasters down south.

No power until 6pm. Not sure if I should leave the freezer closed or go fill up a cooler.
